I agree with John Barton, there is always a spot available that makes it gambling and from what it sounds like they were playing super cheap. Someone trying to improve should play people like Joey Gray cheap, not to get their head kicked in but to see how to play the correct way, how to play...

Lee if you don't get in the challenge I would play you some any game on a 9 or 10 foot table. Banks 9 ball 10 ball anything and we don't have to bet huge 1k a set is fine.

Don't forget about Florida, there is Tony Crosby, Donny Mills, Anthony Meglino, Stoney Stone, Adam Wheeler and several other very good players

That's probably correct, most pro's have big strokes and even bigger egos so beyond getting loose there is some intimidation involved.

Our session here at strokers is starting Tuesday. I am very excited to play another session and hopefully Ill qualify to play at the derby. Either way its a great game and I hope it continues to grow

Congrats to Brian for winning. It's definitely a tough event to win. I was surprised at the lack of action in the surrounding pool halls. In years past some of the bigger names in the event would venture out and gamble but I actually saw none of that this year.

Can you explain this further *Typically ALL balls spot, but we also played "only spot the ball before the money ball"....which was the usually the 9 ball unless there was a handicap involved, then it could be the ball before the 8 Ball, or 7 Ball, etc. Also if you make a ball and scratch...
