I agree! Races to 5 are way too short....but they cut the tournament down to 2 days last year...not sure if they are doing that again for the women's part. I want to see this article now! ;)

I listed the web site in the post prior to this. it is a combination of 8 and 9 ball, on 9 foot tables.

The website is usamateurchampionship.com According to that, there is one in Hoboken, NJ. Not sure if that is close to you or not.

I won't be playing this year as I am not allowed, but the championship rounds are in Tampa, which is only about a 2hour drive from me, so I plan on going to watch. Hopefully a few of my friends win their qualifiers and make it down, which would be great! ;) Good luck to you!

I was wondering what this has to do with the WPBA also? The link is for the WPA...and as far as the WPBA 'is' concerned, they use new balls at each tournament, which are then sold/raffled off.

I have been in this situation and my roommate always picked up the tab for a meal, bought a few drinks. I had no problem with that, seeing as how they were a good enough friend I trusted in the room with me. Then again I have stayed with someone who got 'their' nights comp'ed and they still...

I also would love to see the pics. Pete is a personal friend of mine and I also use an Omen. Mine is a basic 4 point, birds eye maple with Ying/Yang symbols at the base of each point.
