    Pechauer Cues?

There's always exceptions to the rule, as you've named a couple production cues that appreciated out of the 1,000's that haven't. Also there's always one bad apple in the bunch(Dale Perry). I can't believe nobody mentioned the fact that a custom cue is made with someone's hands, not spun out of...

    Pechauer Cues?

They play great but as far as holding their value, there's just too many of them out there being a production cue. On the other hand a custom cue, won't depreciate in fact with the right maker just the opposite.

Break Pads & Piece Of Paper

I've never used one on my table or anywhere for that matter. You could use it with your Micheal Jackson pool glove.

If Diamond tables didn't bank short...

I think I'm commenting on the wrong table. I have a 15 or so year old 4 1/2 X 9. The rails are way different than the newer rails, whatever the name of them. The newer ones are so springy(Derby tables) I stay away from the rails as much as possible.

Strategies for beating a pro in 9-ball

+1 Best advice I've seen so far "Play the table, not the player".

If Diamond tables didn't bank short...

I would like to see them go back to their old rails, not the Accufast? ones that play like a new pinball flipper. Also not a fan of the blue cloth that they use at the Derby, other than that don't change a thing.

What kind of players give you a hard time?

I can't speak for the slow players, but I will shift gears with different players. I play really fast but I also like to mix it up. If I see a fast player like myself I will sometimes slow the game up a bit, especially one pocket. I can see when a guy is itching to get to the table ready to pull...

    Pot and Pool

Most of the poolrooms I grew up at the majority of the players were heads. Most of the best players I've seen had the worst habits- hard drugs/etc. Some were straight outta the movie The Hustler. There was always plenty of colorful characters at the poolroom, to say the least. Is this still the...

    Fearlessness!

Most of the best pool players I've seen are fearless, such as firing the 9 ball 100 mph on hill/hill of a big match. Do you think this is something that can be acquired, or something your born with?

    Gary Spaeth

I watched Gary growing up mostly at the Beechmont Billiards in Cincinnati, best all around player I've ever seen in our area. I believe he played about the same speed as Donny Anderson who was a world champ at bankpool. He is still the talk of the town so to speak when you get to talking...

Thank you Waldo much appreciated. I googled Wiley Woody and got a bunch of crap not related to the cuemaker whatsoever. Time to make a phone call.

Anyone heard of a cuemaker named Wiley Woody?

I bought a sneaky pete from a friend years ago, and I love the way it hits. The name on the cue is Wiley Woody. The guy I got it from said he's from Kentucky or Tennesee I can't remember. I wanna order another cue, but I don't have any contact info. Anyone ever heard of this fellow?

    Tim Scruggs Comeback

I just joined this forum to say-Put me on the list for 1 4 point and 1 sneaky pete that matches up if possible, or just by itself (2 cues total).

    Best Jump/Break cue out there

Thank you all for the replies. Sounds like the Lomax is the general consensus. Surprised no one had anything to say about the Cannon. Now I've got some things to ponder, I also like the idea of having a dedicated jump and a separate break cue also. I've got Searing making me a jump/break, but I...

    Best Jump/Break cue out there

I'm looking for the best jump/break cue out there. I currently have 2 Cannon's I like the weight and feel, but they don't roll too straight. I'm looking for something more finely crafted. What say you?
