question about 3 foul rule again

I'm playing a league 14.1 match....i miss causing a foul. Now I am on two, since I had one previously. My opponent goes up pockets a ball, turns to me and asks me if I'm on 2 fouls, cuz he's not sure. Not wanting to be a jerk, I politely tell him yes. My question is, if I'm playing my match...

    interesting opening break

check this video out of mario he vs. huidji see look at the opening break shot...he calls the headball ( I believe the one ball) in the side instead of breaking safe...interesting shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmZh_0HrdWI

    New to 14.1

Hi Pangit! Haha I laugh cuz I actually know what that means..anyway..definitely agree with Sean in that 14.1 helps your rotation game...I've noticed it in mine and i've only been playing 14.1 for about a year now..at the league level at least. I used to actaully think it was boring and...

    Thx Crane

so when playing safe with 14 balls racked on the table...would the 2 rail crane safe be the preferred shot to take rather than coming from behind the stack and knocking a few balls loose?....your thoughts and opinions please :)

    Thx Crane

Do you recommend using center cueball with medium speed? Whats your preference when executing this shot?

    Hey New Yorkers...

no wonder table 20 (table on the corner along the rail right in front of the atm machine) felt like a tight pocket table!...makes sense now!:p

    2011 World Tourney

very classy gentleman, shoots in our 14.1 league at Society Billiards in nyc and also at Amsterdam billiards. Here's a little article awhile back about him: http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.php?id=5363

    Safety Play

Chip and hide is my preference, If you thin the stack there may be a good chance of leaving a dead ball and have your opponent on a long run while you sit in the chair and watch. Chipping for me is more tactical and allows the shooter to be a chess player and try to out smart his opponent the...

    14.1 Frustration

See, this is why I love the 14.1 forum and posting here. You get some really great insightful advice! Thanks a lot guys. I'll keep everything in mind during my next few matches as our season is winding down to a close. I guess I should be happy that I was "promoted" 2 levels up. I'm going to try...

    14.1 Frustration

Just had my league match tonight. The league director just recently bumped me up 2 levels so instead of playing to 60 points I now have to play to 100. Anyway, I was playing an individual who only had to play to 75. If I was at my handicap previously I would've won long before. Due to my new...

    A New Begining

Hey Rocky, I know exactly on how you feel and congrats on your run(s). I used to be totally in love with 9 ball, till my eyes were opened to 14.1. Now I can't get enough. 9ball doesnt give me that high that straight pool does (unless I'm running rack after rack). As for my personal goals, I'd...

    break shot off the stack

I've seen blackjack do this in his you tube videos. Any real formula to help calculate this shot? Is this the same idea as in a carom shot explained in the 99 critical shots book? This could be a real life saver when not getting shape on a break ball to continue your run. Just curious...

14.1 on diamond vs brunswick table

I dont know if it's just me...when I practice on a brunswick in my home pool room...I feel fine..able to run balls..but when I'm playing in my league in the city where everytable is a diamond table..I struggle and struggle..maybe its still mental...maybe not?..but does playing on a diamond table...

    14.1--cueing on the opening break

now I know traditionally the opening break is done using about 1 to 1:30 (top right outside english)on the cueball hitting about 1/4 of the corner ball comming two rails around and stopping at the opposite end of the table hopefully leaving your opponent with no shot and cueball snug up against...
