See why systems don't help you?
He is using a 2 rail center point, parallel cue system. He ends up adding right english to lengthen the angle off the long rail, and shorten the angle on the short rail, in hopes to get the 2 rail kick. I mean he knew enough to feel that he needed a tonne of...
Randomly shooting would be better. Get used to applying sides and feeling the deflection, swerve and throw. No aiming system can account for this "feel".
Here we have 2 players that definitely have a more deliberate approach....and you can see they have trouble with the 4 3/8' pockets. My table is 4 1/4" so trust me aiming systems won't help you.
You think if you played in 1000 tv table finals at the us open you'd get nervous anymore? Heck no. Yeah you'd get nervous your first time if you let yourself...but you aren't nervous because of pool...you are nervous because you are on tv with bright lights, surrounded by an audience. Don't let...
Everyone can do it if they allow it to happen. You can also go a long way with more deliberate shooting...but you will fatigue faster than a player relying more heavily on muscle memory imo because you are doing more work. I think john schmidt and Mike sigel to me look like they are doing a lot...
I can see by the way they play. Filler, Shaw, Drago, Luc salvas, Ronnie osullivan, Earl strikland all at a high level of muscle memory.
Ralph souquet, Eklent Kaci, Alex Pagulyan, fedor Gorst, Johnny Archer etc more deliberate.
You shouldn't play any differently in a tournament than you do at home. Besides, if you are getting nervous playing in the local tournament, then you are not playing in enough local tournaments...same with regional, national, worlds. Does a roofer get nervous on a roof? He could fall to his...
Yes, but I also wanted to mention that you reach a point where you are basically just shooting shape...the actual object ball is insignificant, its just a means to an end...the end being the position for the next shot. When I'm walking around the table to the next shot my whole "pre-shot...
I have come across some videos discussing this and it should be termed shooting with muscle memory. It is not really aiming at all. It encompasses your walking, chalking, stance, drop, english, stroke...all of these are being done subconsciously.
Like when I hear players talk about its 2 tips...
So you are understanding that you are closing your eyes while still in the standing position right? That's the drill I'm talking about...I thought I invented it but who knows.
Ok not the lame way where you are already down on the shot and then just turn your head...big whoop. It takes a real novice to be impressed by that. What I'm saying is stand behind the shot, THEN close your eyes, drop in and shoot. This is a great way to test your muscle memory.
Update.
I...
This isn't the worst example out there...but he does touch the cloth near the 3 ball. Anyway, this also applys to players who run their cue down the line of the shot before getting down on it...why does it seem like lefty's do this more?
Well that's just awful cuemanship. You are putting unnecessary chalk on the table. Anyway, obviously when you are down on the shot it shouldn't apply since you can contact the cloth on follow through.
Yeah I've seen players do this...first of all its needless wear and tear on the cloth...secondly yeah your marking the table and adding lots of chalk so causing other issues like "kick" shots...imagine they are doing this with Kamui chalk?
