thats nothing,I new a guy that was atop player in socal,that eventually became homeless,but would show up the the ph form time to time and play for money getting backed of course and take the money down,sad thing is he wouldnt use it for a shower
I have played in alot of asian pool rooms where I have lived over the last 20 years(LA/NY/FLA/S.DIEGO and Boston)I have seen drive byes,knife fights and fist fights,but never had a single problem,I guess if your there to play pool and not looking for trouble or acting like a wise ass it will be ok

I played at college back then as well,mostly billiards in the back with the mexicans,but did play some up front and in the thursday tourney a few times,I played vic c billy graves roy,swanee,mondo,doug ,ronnie,and hotel quite often.had great times
swanee was agreat guy and would do anything for you,I hung around san diegos college billiards and hard times downtown,was thier when we got the news he died
I used to play at HT and was there 1 night Efren played a local Mexican A player,he spotted him the 8 and shot left handed for 500$ races to 7.Efren was running out or playing crazy safes lefty.It was rediculous
college billiards in s.d. calif used to have excellent hamburgers and even had a spagetti dinner tourney every thurs night.years ago bakers in tampa fla had great food.
