I had the pleasyof being defeated by him about 10 years back at the Derby 9-Ball event. Still played sporty.

"Smiley" (Ismael aka "Puente de San Francisco), his usual running partner was "Tuna." Tuna was pretty small, but had a massive 9-Ball Break. He was really quiet, Smiley was the action getter, but Tuna probably played a ball or so better than Smiley. I had numerous late 80's run in's with them...

John was a good guy. He showed me some financial support in the last US Open 9-Ball Championships I played in (2008). An extremely valuable forums member. A big loss. R.I.P. John. My condolences to his friends and family.

I’d been there several times. Way too pretentious for my taste. Hollywood Billiards was better. For the era, nothing beats Hard Times of yore.

Not sure about hardness (really similar), but the Sniper gives better feedback IMO - it may require a little more maintenance I think.
