    Most Ridiculous Pool Rules!

I hear that!! I once had to actually go out and get a book to prove to some idiots that these are not legal shots. Apparently alot of people believe this "scoop" shot is a legal jump shot. I can't remember being more pissed about a pool game.

Welcome New Sponsor of the Viking Tour

What Tour? Why is there no information anywhere about this tour? Vikings own website still has 2004 info posted.

    Eddie Taylor passes

Pretty Sad Freddy Freddy, you're right it's pretty sad when all the "pool lovers" here don't even know that such greats existed. Thank God there are people like you around to educate some of them. Some of the lists on an all time greats list last week were pretty pathetic. I can't believe...

Sold!! [(Please, no more stories, buy the book when it comes out in six months.) the Beard Ok Freddy. Thanks for sharing. I'll be ordering some copies as soon as it's out! The first one was so good, six months seem like an eternity, but I'll be awaiting it's arrival.

Sorry Freddy Sorry Freddy. I didn't mean to imply that you were old, but you have the best stories and I'd thought I'd take a shot. How about Wimpy? Again no offense, since I know his real prime was in the forties, but you have to have a couple good ones from the sixties or Johnson City, IL

Several reasons why not to support the IPT

I say give it a chance. The WPA, BCA, and the other so-called governing bodies of billiards aren't worth a shit. They don't care about the players or the game.

    Chicago One Hole

Unfortunately it's not too close to Buffalo Grove, but it's not that far either. Ask whomever you are staying with. You probably want to get on the Kennedy Expressway like you are heading downtown, get off at Lawrence Avenue and make a right. Next light is Milwaukee Avenue, make a left and go...

Tuning OUT EVERYTHING but your Shot

Thanks Freddy. I knew that it had to be more than tapes or everyone would have them. I forgot about the chemicals. He'd come into the pool halls in St. Louis so wired sometimes it was a wonder he could play at all, but he did.

Tuning OUT EVERYTHING but your Shot

Hypnosis Tapes Louie "St. Louie Louie" Roberts used to listen to hypnosis tapes to focus. You could have blown up the pool room around him and he wouldn't even notice. They worked so well another player stole them from him. Haven't tried it but I know it worked for him.

New respect for Mitch and televised pool

I respectfully disagree. Mitch Laurence sucks. Although, like you said, the other guy sucks too. What these matches need are real pool players commentating, not Mitch Laurence or Dawn Hopkins (who is a player), but still sucks as a commentator.

Looking for action around the STL area

That's great idea! There should be a list or chart of some sort like that. Could have weekly/monthly/regional/special tournaments, if you can get action there, places to avoid, etc. Like a pool hall road atlas.

There you have it. If he doesn't know. No one does.

    Trickshots in real matches ?

As it's diagrammed, you use high right hand english into the point, jack up about 30 degrees or so. But the trick is the hit, too hard and it will bounce into the short rail, too soft and it goes off away from the short rail. Have to hit it just right with more of a tap type hit, rather than...

    Trickshots in real matches ?

Oh yes, I've seen the look many times. First time they see it, many think it's luck or a fluke, but I set it up and do it again, and then it's, "Can you show me how to do that?"
