    Famous wood

Very true and people will promote every angle possible for a dollar. Using a famous builders name to sell wood for an extra dollar doesn't show any respect to that builder. That's greed in my mind. Finishing a cue they can't is showing respect. I'm willing to bet most builders would want...

    Famous wood

These are not wood from a builders inventory. The cues pictured should sell for your and the original builders combined efforts. Different circumstances.

    shafts?

When buying shafts make sure to ask if they are dipped. The turning process for dipped shafts is different then non dipped. My last 100 shafts were dipped and I'll never go that route again.

    Famous wood

IMO I don't think it make any difference who the wood was purchased from. If all they did was buy it and after time sell it their name has no connection to the wood. What you do with it gives it value. Age adds value. Pre kiln days could add value.

    monetary question

A tip is something extra given for good service. If your happy with the service why not. It's not expected nor should any profession expect a tip. There is no rude tip. I was tipped $1000 on a cue once and enjoyed spending that just as much as a $5 thank you for repairing a cue. I get...

    feelings???

I get upset if they don't eat it. I don't get upset. I prefer building cues for people that keep them. People don't sell things they love so it make me wonder why.

Titlist conversion complete. Hand carved inlays

.................... The black Phenolic is threaded into the core for strength and not a collar. I've tried almost every finish idea there is and the UV clear is by far the best finish material I've used. The only negative part is paying for the $280 quart of clear.

Titlist conversion complete. Hand carved inlays

This is for Dennis Walsh. Ivory over Brass joint. This combo hits great. Ivory inlays. The inlays are cut with my CNC then finished with a razor blade. No round corners or glue lines. It's very time consuming but the finished look is well worth it.

Thanks for the specs. It'll take some time but I'll start a different cue. If you like it keep it. If not send her back. Thanks Dan. He saw it when I was preparing it for shipping. The Phenolic butt cap was added to his cue after seeing it on this cue. Very pretty cue. Guaranteed to play...
