    Threading wood buttplate

I have tested what glues best work with all the woods I commonly use. Epoxy doesn't bond to Coco. Removing the oils from the glue surfaces helps. Damp Coco and Gorilla glue is the best. Titebond and Super glue are better with Coco then Epoxy. A few month back I started a thread to share my...

    Threading wood buttplate

Mechanical bond if you use Epoxy on Coco. Coco is one of the few woods that epoxy doesn't bond to. There are better glues then Epoxy when working with Coco.

    I need a G-10 Black 3/8x10 pin.

I need one and forgot to add it in my Atlas order. I don't need another $100 in supplies from atlas. I'll try Chris or Prather for one.

    Better, topic (Veneers)

With the expectations of concentric perfection I think mitered veneers are the future. My first veneers were stacked. I learned how to miter and never went back. I think most of us start with stacked and move to mitered. A very important thing to think about when building a cue is the...

Perseving Ivory handles from crazing ..??

I'd say 40 years is long enough to call it stable.

Perseving Ivory handles from crazing ..??

I've been very happy with every piece of Ivory I've ordered from Warther's. Great supplier. I have to disagree with the suppliers about shrinkage (wood or Ivory). Most Ivory we buy is older then dirt. The suppliers idea of shrinking is different then a cue builders. A knife handle that...

Perseving Ivory handles from crazing ..??

I've been thinking about this question all day. Ivory will show signs of shrinking. Close up pictures of where the Ivory meets the rings will show if things are moving. I small shrinkage line can be fine as long as it's just the glue between the pieces and the surfaces are level. If the...

Perseving Ivory handles from crazing ..??

Make sure Ivory is stable before installing it is the only way to prevent future problems. It will shrink and crack if it's not stable. On big pieces I seal the outer surfaces then drill and bore the center to 3/4". I don't seal the inside. The hole lets the Ivory dry evenly and gives it...

You saw it. The veneers are almost perfect. I wouldn't build this cue for under $1200. The winner is getting a great cue for cheap.

Back up top. Great player. Cueballdg stopped by to look at it and his exact words were. "it's beautiful and the flaws are very hard to see, the wrap is perfect"

    Full splice jig

No pictures yet. An AZ member is building it and we'll show pictures after the first orders are filled. I don't want my ideas copied before I get the first batch out. The jig cuts great. The builders will have adjust the jig to fit the length of points they want and the thickness of the...

The weight can be played with. I can't predict what it will finish at. A rubber bumper can be added if the buyer wants.

Bloodwood full splice. Going to highest bid.

PM's replied to. It's open to any bid in $20 increments. If you like it throw out a bid. Money back guarantee that it looks far better then the pictures. If it doesn't feel great in your hands I'll refund your money. At a tournament it would be sold in minutes. I get questioned on my selling...

    My new toy.

Couldn't pass this up. Lathe, mill, and drill press. With 1.2" bore and 20" between centers I'll find many uses for it. The mill will be nice for building jigs.

.................... The base of the points are where the flaws are and I'm showing pictures of the bad spots. The black veneer is thicker on one side. I couldn't get the tips of the points even.
