Just another point of view: I buy the cheap black ambidextrous spandex gloves from eBay, 10/$5.00, (50 cents each). They last a long time. With so many, I keep one in my brief case for traveling. They are so cheap, who cares if they get lost? If I start a new glove, it feels just like the old...

As long as the pin holds the shaft snug against the butt without shaking loose, I don't think it makes any difference what pin you use. I don't believe there is a pool player alive that could discern what pin is used - in several otherwise identical cues - in a blind test.

I recently re-watched The Hustler, and I have to say..... Meh. In my opinion: The romance is slow and depressing. The psychobabble is preachy. The pool bits are fun, and the pool room atmosphere is palpable, but the "amazing shots" are engineered and unimpressive. The ending is nonsense...
