    Question about table time

For all these people responding that they would rather pay by the hour, do you want single player rates too? $8/hour is very reasonable for 2 or 3 or 4 players, but there is no way I would pay that to practice by myself for 5 hours at $8/hour. The pool players posting on this forum do not make...

    The Monk

I don't understand this, so I'll just take a guess as to what you mean. Perhaps its because The Monk doesn't post "on here," at least not that I am aware of. There are many instructional resources out there that go unmentioned or mentioned less than others in certain places for many reasons...

    Need cloth & bumpers (rails)

If it is still in pieces, you should probably have a mechanic set it up for you. They will re do the rails and level everything out. Why don't you shoot RealKingCobra a pm and see if he is going to be in the area anytime soon? Or just ask for a recommendation of a good mechanic in FL and get...

    Stroke Trainer (Cue Track)

To the person who said stroke in the mouth of a bottle- you can't actually hit balls while doing that, and I find it gets boring pretty quick. Plus the forks also let you know if you tend to twist your wrist while stroking because you see them rotate. Do you see the cue ball hitting right of...

    One Piece Cues for Conversion

Thanks for the response BHQ. I do see that they look a little yellowish-oranger than most other cues I see. I guess that could be an indication of the wood being something else such as ramin. I haven't actually heard of ramin until now though. I was hoping that a decent cue could be had if they...

    One Piece Cues for Conversion

do you guys think there is any value in converting these cues? There don't seem to be a lot of them around, so If a cuemaker could give some insight as to whether something like this is worth converting, or worth keeping as is, I would appreciate it. Do butterfly splice blanks like this usually...

Help Identify Old Butterfly 1 piece cues

Hi Craig, Would you be willing/able to post pics of yours. I would be curious to see them, and it would be cool if yours had complete stickers because neither of mine do. Thanks.

    One Piece Cues for Conversion

Mr. H, I do agree. I think though it is much easier to make a butt that is too fat skinnier than a butt that is too skinny fatter. I could be wrong though. By the time things get sanded down and refinished, if the cue is generally a little smaller then it might easily be too small. Also, I do...

    One Piece Cues for Conversion

Hello, I recently picked up a couple old italian one piece cues. I am considering converting them and had a couple questions about them. I noticed the butt diameter is only about an inch and quarter. Is there a minimum thickness desired in a cue to make it a good candidate for conversion? Is...

20 Gold Crown III Tables in So. CA. $800 ea

Great price and the tables play great. I am not affiliated with the craigslist post but thought it was worth sharing. I believe these tables are from formerly Family Billiards in Oceanside. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/fuo/1213808413.html

    help with pricing?

Hello, Before anyone can help, they will need to know the model of the table. Here is an interesting resource of brunswick service manuals, a lot from that timeframe: http://www.classicbilliards.net/html/servicemanuals.cfm If the table in question looks like any one of those, let the folks...

8 ball break driving me nuts!!

If you break from the side, you aren't driving all the force through the center of the rack. The energy will get spread to one side more than the other. When I see most pro's playing 8 ball it seems to be that they break from the center, or close to it. I don't know of any advantage of breaking...

Johnny Archer / Nick Varner “Pool School” San Diego 2009 photos.

The tables are pretty nice indeed. They are a little banged up and need new aprons. They are all later models than any other anniversaries I have seen. The nameplates are square and look just like the nameplates on the gold crowns. They all have ball return and score keepers which I am also led...

    A little stroke help needed

I really think Joe Tucker's 3rd Eye Stroke Trainer helps out well in this regard. When I read this, I interpret that you are having a tough time getting comfortable once down. If that's the case, maybe visualizing the shot line a little longer before you step into the shot might help.
