    Southwest versus...

I have never shot with either, but heard that Rick Howard cues play like a Southwest cue.

Jeff OLNEY SOUTH WEST Style 6 point SUPERB INEXPENSIVE Player !

So much cue for the money. Jeff's cues play really good. I can't believe nobody has scooped this up yet.

    CJ Stevens Merry Widow

Make An Offer!! For sale is a CJ Stevens Purpleheart and Birdseye Maple merry widow. CJ is a local NC cue maker, and this cue plays real solid. It has one small bubble in the finish on the handle as seen in the pic, and there are a couple of very small nicks in the butt. Other than that, it's...

Need advice and help about refinish and cuemaker work.

I have two custom cues that are way past due. One well over 2 years, and the second is approaching a year. I've never brought it up here because people will want to know who they are, and I am not ready to disclose either name for various reasons. I know if I want advice from this forum, they...

Best tip for a Break/ Jump cue

I have an Outsville Hammerhead on my Gilbert J/B and I wouldn't change it for anything. Hits hard and has great control!

    Orcollo's cue..??

I saw Dennis shooting with two different cues within the same 9 ball match. No idea what either one was but at one point he changed cues when he came back to the table. It might have even been during the same game. Perhaps he was using the Cuetec CF for a bank shot or something.

    DCC 9 ball updates?

I was sitting in front of you and I agree. (I knew you looked familiar but couldn't recall where from until I saw your Avatar) Like the match with DD, Lee Van was not flawless and certainly not boring. His stroke looked different, but it was consistent. He didn't have the perfect spread breaks...

SJM at the 2020 Derby City Classic

I got to watch a couple of Can's matches when he took down a couple big dogs. I was also fortunate enough to play him a set and have a few drinks with him late Saturday night. Very nice and humble guy with some great talent. So nice he let me use his cues when we played.

Pechauer Naked Break Cue with Black Ice

No, I almost never do any full cue jumps, so I'm not very good at it. The formats I play mostly allow jump cues.

Pechauer Naked Break Cue with Black Ice

    It's strictly a break cue, not a J/B.

    Jackpot Cues

Thanks for the info, I couldn't find anything on that. I have never understood the "Name Brand" mentality. If a product is made well, you like the looks of it, and it lasts, who cares if it's not a "Insert Designer Name Here", that will cost 4x more. I look at cues the same way. Why buy a $2k...

    Jackpot Cues

Ok I vaguely recall the Eason story and read enough to figure Zinzola went the same path as Eason and Eddie Wheat. I'm not finding anything on Bama cues. This isn't the seller 'bamacues', right? Can someone point me in the right direction or time frame?

    Jackpot Cues

I know the story on Wheat and Sly cues. Personally I think there is a big difference between never getting a cue, or getting one made poorly, versus deception on who made a cue that looks nice and plays well and was delivered on time.. As far as Bama, Eason, and Zinzola... I have some reading...

    Jackpot Cues

You are correct, I don't recall them asking what any customer wanted. These were semi-mystery after all. I think it's neat the cues are slightly different and people could pick from slight variations. As far as 2 different ferrules, they stated it would come with 1 shaft for $500, but threw in a...

    Jackpot Cues

I won't speculate as to why, but I have seen plenty of cue makers make "batches" with varying differences. A similar style with slightly different woods, with or without veneers or even different colored inlays. Look at the Olney in my signature for one example. Jeff made several variants of...
