US Open Break & Run % Is Too Low

We all grew up watching 9-ball since the 80s with power breaks, and until Corey figured out a way to transform the shot into a percentage shot everybody was just slamming them. It was down to whoever could control the cueball and hit AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. Now with the help of the tapped balls...

Earl calls Boyes "victim number one" for World Cup

They played one scotch double together, which they won against Mika and Darren 6-5. Like a few other players in the competition, Shane could have the option to choose his partner and picked Earl. It'll all live on Sky Sports so I suppose some streamers will redirect the feed for you guys in...

Get Rid of that Measle Ball!

Adding the spots on the cueball has been done for TV and introduced in 3-cushion, pool and blackball (english pool). The similarity with the history of the tennis ball (white until 1972) is that they were both changed for TV. And like snooker who's the only cuesport not using the measle ball...

Mosconi Cup, Team USA, the real problem still exists.

My bad CJ, I forgot to mention that it was when we went for the dinner, not at the dinner. Everybody was in the lobby, and we waited more than a while for you. I remember very well talking to Mike D., Brandon and they hadn't seen you prior. Johnny had seen you but didn't know where you went. In...

Mosconi Cup, Team USA, the real problem still exists.

This is NOT true. Writing this in a public forum where so many readers take what's in it for granted creates so many misunderstandings... I can't understand how you can actually write this when you know first-hand, as a player and a captain, that it is inaccurate. Your name gives some credits...

Mosconi Cup, Team USA, the real problem still exists.

CJ, saying that the MC is not a "serious tournament" is one thing: your opinion. But lying is another thing... players "asked to act"... Can you specifically quote any event when you saw this happen? What is this about fans "participation"? Would you rather play in front of empty seats...

    Mike Dechaine

This Mosconi Cup thing is really good at creating long thread subjects. - In 2012 Archer was hand-picked and a lot of people complained because some youngsters might be more deserving (at that time, Oscar was named by a few for instance). Archer went on to be unbeaten in London, the best of all...

    Mosconi Cup Break?

Not yet, and it won't be for a little while. Other events are being put together now (World Cup of Pool, World Pool Masters). It's very unlikely that the break box will be used again, given the very low percentage of run-outs. The hard break was good for the looks, but as soon as the balls...

Deurne (Holland) pictures from this week-end

A few pictures from this week-end. I will upload more to the "other DCC" page on AZB very soon. Waiting for some data from the organizer (PR etc...). I was testing a new Nikon camera for the first time. It makes me wonder what I'll be able to do with more light, like at matchroom events! :grin...

    Top 8 Mosconi picks announced!!!

No. There are 5 spots and nobody is a lock although Shane will without a doubt be one of the five. So basically, there are 4 spots for 7 players. Four of them have MC experience. Three don't. Which makes it a good balance IMO.

J.P. Paramentier Pictures of the Derby -- WOW!

Yep I did this on purpose so this album would stay on top after I post the others... Thanks for noticing though :) Headed back to the room now for more pics, with a lot of new faces now that 9-ball has started.

J.P. Paramentier Pictures of the Derby -- WOW!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Four days to go and still a lot of stuff to shoot, here. The tricky part of it is to wait until an opportunity for a good picture shows up. But at the same time, I'm missing tons of other shots elsewhere  My friend Vincent Rochefort from NYC help...

    Fastest Break Speed Ever Recorded?

I took this particular shot of Mike testing the BK3 and the speed app (notice the phone on the table), on a 7ft. table last july at the BCAPL. The result was 35.5 or 36.5, I'm not sure but definitely one or the other...
