    VA State 9-Ball Championship

I'd like to give a big shout out and thanks to JR Calvert and Inside Pool Magazine for hosting and producing a terrific high definition stream, LIVE, for the past 2 days as well. Working with JR and Alvin was a lot of fun! Brian in VA

    U.S Open

CCB Tournament Brain, I was thinking that if you're going to be there you should come join us on Thursday night for dinner and Friday morning for our annual tournament at Q Masters. We've been doing this tournament for 10 years now; Scott and Randy G are both playing in it again this year...

    U.S Open

FWIW, Brain, I've been going to the Open for about 10 years now. It's very exciting to see all of the players in battle and I'm always very impressed with their graciousness towards the fans. They never seem too busy for an autograph or a picture and that makes it terrific. That said...

    Deleting Account?

enzo FWIW, all forums tend to hit prominent posters in the face from time to time. Have I butted heads with people on here? Yep. That doesn't mean I disappeared. If it's someone that I truly can't stand, I just put them on ignore so I don't have to read what comes out of their keyboard...

ABP or Barry Behrman: Which Side of the Fence Are You On?

Frankly, I'm amazed it's gotten to this point. If Barry, astute businessman that he is, had enough sense to set expectations properly this wouldn't have happened. By that I mean, leave out the "added money BS" and just post the payouts from day one at WHATEVER HE CAN AFFORD TO PAY. If he'd...

    Brunswick Centennial & Anniversary

While it says walnut in the catalog, I believe they meant walnut stained. I have an Anniversary, all original, the rails are oak (stained walnut) and the skirts are poplar (also stained walnut). Brian in VA

    ABP boycotts Berhman's event

For the record, the food and beer is a lot cheaper than that at the US Open 9 Ball Championships! (That is, however, close to the prices at the US Open Golf Championships. I've been to both.) Attendance figures are kind of low, too. Brian in VA

    JTS Brown Review.

I can only say that if everyone liked vanilla ice cream, it would be an awfully bland world. There's a reason while all manner of spirits, wines, and beers are distilled, vinted, and brewed and that's because we all have different palates. According to Whiskey magazine reviews, JTS Brown isn't...

What would you want to see on the menu?

I also like the idea of a grilled chicken salad for those times when I'm wanting something that is healthier. My local room has a great cheeseburger platter available with sweet potato fries and it's dynamite. During the colder months, a decent soup everyday is very welcome. Brian in VA

    More detrimental advice

Congratulations! That's what Randy G, Scott Lee, and a host of other SPF teachers teach in their schools. And it works, as you've discovered. Brian in VA

Need Pre-Shot Routine For Getting out of car

I had to come up with a way to stop my daughter from locking the keys in the car when she first learned to drive. Here's the regime she came up with: As soon as the ignition is switched off, she pulls the key out and sticks her index finger through the key ring and wraps her hand around the...

Your Ah-Ha moment in pool that took your game to the next level?

I'd have to say it was when Pocket Point began posting on this forum. :sorry: Upon further review, I'd say it was when I learned about speed control many years ago, that you didn't have to spear everything at warp speed. I immediately began beating my father regularly (I was about 8 I guess)...

    Dress code in pool

Your comment about tennis is not entirely accurate. While the dress code has evolved over the years to make it appear to be less stuffy, one still exists. Wimbledon has very specific guidelines that include "primarily white" apparel for the court. I don't have a problem with dress code myself...
