    Wooden bead scorer question

On one end, or both, tie a spring to the cotton string/wire. It will keep the string/wire tight and you won't necessarily need to be quite so precise with the length of string/wire. Works well if you hang your beads away from the wall or ceiling...not rubbing. L8R...Ken

    just had to share this

That's a good one. When my daughter was in Kindergarten, she recited this poem that I helped her memorize: Little Miss Muffit Sat on her Tuffit Eating her Curds and Way When along came a spider Who sat down beside her And said... BOO B@%*H, WATCHA GOT IN THE BOWL! Needless to say, the...

    Are there to many tours?

I don't think any local tour would be out of line. A state wide tour or even a city wide tour would be a great idea, especially if it was tied to an existing state or city league system. You tour might not help me here in Iowa, but it might be a huge sucess in Oklahoma for your locals. I have...

    Billiards Esoterica: triangle rack placement

I'm thinking the reason for the lip is two fold...1. adds strength to the rack design and 2. provides more area on the cloth/flat surface rather than an edge...thus not as much wear on the cloth. I could be completely wrong though...wouldn't be the first or last time. As Jason said, the...

2011 DCC - "CaliRed" Presents - Episode 2 -"The Jimmy Jib"

Interesting interview 'cali'. It does seem to be less intrusive than the guy walking around the table like the ESPN guys do. Only drawback is it's fixed location...it can miss some shots, but not many. Thanks for the vid. L8R...Ken PS...some bikini clad chix would have been better

Shouldn't the front foot be .....

I think I agree with mosconiac and greyghost. The rear foot is more important. That's the first foot I plant when lining up a shot, then I step into the shot as mosconiac says. I don't know if my front foot is parallel to the aim line or not, but it is comfortable. In the end, my rear foot...

    Teaching a child to play

Definitely let the boy have fun right now. His interest will grow and so will the desire to improve. Someday he will ask you how to do this or that...then teach him. I believe 5 is too soon to try to talk rules with him. It's not too early for him to play but you need to keep it fun. Don't...

What is Your Favorite Style of Cue?

Very well put. I like this poll. Although I do appreciate the modern artworks, I still can't stray away from the classic designs. L8R...Ken

    Rosewood classic Tascarella

Very nice cue. I really love that old timey classic look. Seems everyone has made one of those type tribute cues...I guess that's why it's a classic design. Maybe that's could be the start of a good post..."show us your classic design cue". By classic design I mean slotter diamond and dots...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Wasn't pissed, musta been focused. I'll always respond politely to any 'howdy'. You shoulda said hey. Maybe next time. I really enjoyed Dr Cue as well. I talked with him after one of his shows. He is so intense when discussing pool in general, you can just tell it is one of his true...

Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Hey, I know those guys... Greg Shefferts (aka Sheepdog) from CR is a Master player. When he's hot, he's hard to beat. And Danny most definitely is a Master. Anybody is doing good if they beat either of them. I was there, but only for teams. We were 2 and out. Man, there was some players...

    Show your palmers

Those Supremes...seeing them both together...now that's a collection of fine cues all by themselves. Either are beautiful but both together are simply BEAUTIMUS!!! Thanks for posting. I was hoping someone would. I remember last year when the other post about that set came out and I was blown...

    Amboyna Cue got Changed .

I've always thought about converting a crippled cue into a cane. Really wouldn't be too difficult. Only need to add an extention to the joint (for proper length) and a handle to the butt end. Any cue would work and I think it would be very classy. Can you see yourslf walking down the street...

    Rule on 'assisting another' question

Thank you very much Mr. Jewett, that is exactly what I was looking for. I just didn't read the Instruction to Referees part in the WPA Rules. Seems there were a couple of referees in my past experiences that were misinformed on this rule. I'll make a mental note of the rule. Thanks again...Ken

    Rule on 'assisting another' question

Thanks for the opinions guys. Sounds like a bunch of pretty generous fellas here. I'd still like to hear the rule from one of the rule maker though. I know you're on here. I just don't know where to draw the line as far as how much 'outside assistance' could/should be allowed. Thanks...

    Rule on 'assisting another' question

Had a situation come up last night. A player had to shoot over a ball. Both were in the middle of the table so the player had to climb on the table (one foot on the ground so that was OK). But the light was interferring with his shot (cue). He asked somebody to hold the light out of the way...

Recovered after being stolen over a year ago!!!!

That's great news. You very seldom hear that kind of happy ending to a stolen cue post. Glad it worked out for you. Can you shed any details on the story? How did your friends find the cue? Do you know who stole it in the first place and does that person still have hands (to steal again)...
