    tab;e ID

Not sure what it is but, it's not an AMF. They had two entry level tables and one was the Hanover that came in black and oak and also the Rogue which was a step above the Hanover. The corner caps on the Hanover had a curve or dip at the edge and were wider than what's on this table. By the...

Amazing! Never heard a word about this tournament and I only live about 3 hours from there. Where was it ever advertised? Robin

    Picture's of my work

Nice work!! Are they going to play on it or just look at it? That appears to be like a piano finish I wouldn't want to scuff! Careful now!!! Great looking table..... Robin

Robin Dodson's The Frog Jump cue

Try this website. http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/jump_break/jump_break_cues.htm The first cue listed is their own line. I own one and it comes with two shafts. One with the phenolic ferrule and tip for breaking and the other with a short ferrule and phenolic tip for jumping. It is...

    Tourney's in Charlotte (N.C.)

Owl - the APA is huge in Charlotte. You can find the BCA & VNEA both as close as Winston-Salem and both systems there are in-house leagues not traveling. As far as the APA, they conduct 14 week sessions and after every session, they have "The Cities" tournament which is in the Carolina Expo...

    BCA Show

I'm going......no excuses not to as it's only 20 miles from me. Charlotte and the entire area is booming over the last several years. The mass exodus of the Northern states like Ohio, Jersey, NY, Maryland, etc. are all migrating here and leaving them taxes behind. I left Minnesota for the...

thinking of buying this table...with problems

If I'm not mistaken (like I was once, let's see......back in 1977) that table looks like a Brunswick Centurion or Century.....something along that line. If it is, those are not bad playing tables and are solid as they came back then. The legs would be semi-easy to rebuild (or build new) and...

    Cutting cushion ends.

The disc is about a 100 grit. Whatever you have should work though. You're just flushing them up while saving the factory cut of the subrail as the guide. They will be smooth so the facings glue on easily. Let us know how you make out. Robin

Coming in Sept, Diamond Professional and ProAm certification course.

Glen - I may give this a try because I have relatives and friends in that area. Might just work out for me so, I'll be waiting for more details!! Robin

    Cutting cushion ends.

I've used Windex on a sharp knife for eons. If you set the rail up so the nose of the cushion is on your bench or cutting surface, lay the knife up against the subrail and just follow the factory profile of the subrail. That should make the correct cut of the new cushion. To finish out any...

    jack up to level???

Should you attempt to level without a technicians assistance, be sure you are lifting by the long frame on the sides and not the rails or blinds. Always on the side and never at a corner or end. Lifting by means of a corner or end of the table can twist the frame, pop the slates, disturb the...

    Top 10 Hack Attacks

I did a local room about two years ago with 7 - 7' Valleys & 3 - 8' Valley's. The knuckleheads that did it 4 times prior to me never pulled staples and the owner of the joint enjoyed pulling staples with me the first day. It took me 4 days to do that job and should have only taken 2...

    refinishing rails

Not sure the exact cause but your natural hand oils, grease, etc can have the fish eye/orange peel affect. Sherwin Williams sells an additive that only requires a few drops per quart added to your finish which does an incredible job to eliminate it. Chat with a sales person there and I'm sure...

    I need new cushions

Donny at sdbilliards would be a good one to ask about Golden West cushions. I believe he used to work for them before they left CA for OR. I've contracted setting up a few they have shipped direct to customers here in NC and the new tables seem nice high quality and are easy set-ups (except...

    Brunswick Regina 1923 Restoration

Suggestions That table (unless it was modified before your Dad got it) came with Monarch cushions which are the K55's. In Artemis lingo, they are the Intercontinental #66 and would be an excellent choice. Expensive but, excellent and I would assume you'll only be replacing them once in your...

    AMF playmaster

I would have to agree to sell it. The table looks like the old Charles Bailey Playmaster and not AMF. That's not such a bad thing but, your money would be better spent on refurbing a better table ONCE you find one.
