Advice on GC 1,2,3,?? buying. and makeover

PS22 - where did you find a GC IV for $1500? You stole it at that price unless it was beat up! Nice find! Glad you found this one instead of some of the others you've mentioned on here.... Robin

    Staple Gun

I've never used anything but the Duo-Fast staplers and won two of them. Too expensive to make the switch and both are in great shape still. Billiard Wholesalers in Silvis, IL has great pricing. Other than this time of year, they generally ship same day so you receive your orders quickly:cool...

    Business picking up yet?

I remember those days/nights up there softshot! I left Minnetonka 3 years ago for the Carolina's and must say, I do NOT miss the lengthy winters up there. A friend up in Warroad sent her "air temperature" thermometer from last year and it read -52 degrees. Nothing lives in that cold  I...

    Anyone remember this one...

I still have one myself. I think I bought mine about that same time as I was a college student at the time. Not sure what condition mine is in as it's been stored in a case for probably 20 years.

    best glue for rails

Yeah, I should have just went with original pockets but wanted to save some $$. Now if I put another nickel into this table, I won't have any balls....my wife will have them! Yikes! Whoever recovered the table prior to me getting it damaged the formica on three of them putting the feather...

    best glue for rails

Notice in the picture of the full table that the ball return and box are laying on the floor? I'm not a fan of ball returns so I converted. The drop pockets I order from Meullers, and although they have the bosse in each, they are not in the correct location. It made the pockets stand above...

    best glue for rails

Nope, we're all wrong! Reading from the can it's now called "3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene Contact Adhesive 10". How's that for a mouth full??? Anyway, it works great and after letting it sit for a minute or so, it bonds very quickly to make setting cushions a breeze. And thanks for posting...

    best glue for rails

3M Durabond 10 is the best. Looks like mustard but works like a champ. I JUST finished my GC III for the second time in as many weeks. Initially I bought Brunswick SuperSpeed cushions and the nose on one was bad and two others were going. Not bad enough that you could tell until they were...

    Looking at this Table Tomorrow

The guy should pay you to haul it to the junk yard! When I was with an outfit in Ohio, we had two tables similar to this used as loss leaders. One was non-slate and the other had.....and I kid you not, 1/4" slate. It looked like a chalk board in three sections. I think they were original...

    Identify Pool Table?

I did a few Saunier-Wilheim tables in N.E. Ohio back in the early 90's that looked similar to this one. It also does look like a Brunswick. No matter, try to negotiate a lower price....I'd never pay asking price myself but, $500 wouldn't be bad and then take your sweet time putting it...

    Brunswick Contender

Even though it may be in excellent condition, it's still one of Brusnwick's entry level tables. It's like a black Bristol II which has (or used to have) Centennial Cushions. Not sure what they use now for cushions on those. Also, I'm guessing it's their Melamine finish over a press board...

New line of Valley, Dynamo, and Global coin-op replacement cushions.

Howdy Glen - I wish I did work on more bar tables at the margin is there. Unfortunately, very few taverns in my area own their own tables and go thru a vendor. This sounds like a great thing to invest in if anyone has some secured accounts. 95% of my jobs are in homes BUT, if things change...

    My feedback on velocity cloth.

Glen - I had Velocity Pro on my home table until I sold it. When I picked up a GC III I intentionally went to Simonis as a personal preference. I play a minimum of two hours per day and to me there is a noticable difference in playability and wear. I make the comparison between them simply...
