    Ivory Ferrule Substitute

Several mentions have been made of whitetail antler. Has anyone used antler from blacktail deer? I have blacktail all over the place and find sheds in the yard every year. -Howard

    Ebony & Hard Curl

That's a nice looking cue, Dustin. I'm not normally wild about ebony, but the way you did the butt makes a lot of difference for me. What does the cue weigh? And how does the ebony forearm affect the balance? (Overcast is right. Summer just left us all of a sudden, didn't it?)

    Experimenting with custom dyed wraps

It would be interesting to see how the white wrap would look on a tuxedo cue.

Narra / Curly Maple Plain Jane

Beautiful cue, Tony. That's just the elegant look I like in a cue.

    Experimenting with custom dyed wraps

Like GoTulane said, on the right cue those would be outstanding.

    arnot grand bocote cue

Welcome, Low E.T. Should I assume a love of drag racing from your name? I have a couple of Arnot's cues, one of them a bocote similar to yours but with a lizard wrap. You will never regret buying that cue. And you are dead right about the solid hit of his cues. I'm starting to suspect that...

    Cue repair??

14 months is ridiculous. For comparison, I had a similar problem with a Varney j/b cue. It was repaired and back in my hands in six days, including shipping 3,000 miles each way.

An interesting thing happened at pool last night

Eight or nine years ago, I was given a McDermott as a gift. Before removing the 3-ounce weight bolt, I called McD. The guy told me it needs a weight bolt, and he sent me, free of charge, a very light aluminum bolt. Now I see why it needs it. (Of course, as it merely sits in the rack, it's pretty...

Have you considered replacing the billiard balls with tennis balls? Also results in a tighter pocket. Just saying...:p

What's up with pay pal ????

Sometimes PayPal just doesn't make any sense. Last year, I sent a payment to Jimmy (Uncle Waldo) and PayPal sent him an email telling him not to ship, because the payment was under review. It was just a small payment for goods (here on AZ, not eBay). They held the payment for 24 hours, with no...

Chuck Starkey 60" Bacote & Curly Maple

That's a sweet cue. I love bocote, and that's some great grain.

Cloth tensions effect on how the rails bank.

Listen to Donny. When my GC V was installed, the rail cloth was not tight enough, and it banked very, very short. After Donny recovered it, the bank shots were dead on. Six months later now, and the rails are still banking perfectly. -Howard

    Bumper or no bumper

I'm with justin on this; bumperless would look great. But a very short bumper would also look fine. Just avoid a full-size "spare tire" bumper.
