The Tao of Brumback: My Experience with a Champion

John B. I have known John since he was a kid and there's no nicer guy in pool. As has been said already, he doesn't just bank great, he KNOWS the game of bank pool. I have never heard of anyone taking a lesson from him that didn't get their money's worth and more. Hey, John, how's that...

    Bobby Cotton and Freddy Bentivegna

In an excellent biography of Titanic Thompson (legendary gambler of the last century), Kevin Cook used Fast Larry as an authority on pool. Kevin had no idea of Larry's reputation among users of pool/billiard discussion forum users. I started a thread here on AZ asking for opinions about Fast...

Onley, Jacoby, Jerry Olivier, Harry Richards

I might have made an offer on the Jacoby, but you never posted the specs. Anything over 19.0 ounces is too heavy for my tastes. And I'd want at least 12.9 mm at the ferrule.

    Cecil Tugwell - Passes Away

An "art shot" of Cecil Mike Haines was very fond of the photo he took of Cecil and asked me to photo edit out all of the distracting elements of the image. We went back and forth about whether to leave the cups on the table or to have just one cup. Existential discussions ensued. We eliminated...

I also knew Titanic and agree with Dean that this is a great book. The best Titanic biography, period. I have lent mine to several people and they all really liked it.

Does cue weight make a differance???

I think you need a lighter cue I believe that if you are noticing the weight of the cue, either that it seems heavy or that it seems light, your game may suffer a bit. IMHO, the perfect cue for you is a cue that you don't notice or become aware of as you play. If there is a nick in the shaft or...

    Mike Stacey For Sale

I think I once owned that cue. If it is the one I owned, the pin is 3/8 by 11, as are most of Mike Stacey's cues. Did you get it from Joe Salazar at the last DCC?
