In an excellent biography of Titanic Thompson (legendary gambler of the last century), Kevin Cook used Fast Larry as an authority on pool. Kevin had no idea of Larry's reputation among users of pool/billiard discussion forum users.

I started a thread here on AZ asking for opinions about Fast Larry and suggested to Kevin that he take a look at the thread. As a result, Kevin has sought other sources of pool knowledge as he makes some revisions in his book for the paperback edition (which comes out in November).

Just yesterday I got an email from Kevin in which he said, "I emailed Robert LeBlanc, and have already corresponded with Freddy Bentivegna."

Now that's a good use of this forum!

excellent move on both you and Kevin's part. It is refreshing to know that people such as yourself, Bill, will check into stuff and if you find anything possibly suspect, that you find it important enough to pass on to the appropriate people.

It's a good move on Keven's part, as you have a great customer base here, but I'm thinking most would pass if they had to read any more of anything from FL. You have seen that reaction firsthand here:)

Oh... good luck prying anything out of Freddy or Robert... they seem to be very shy people that avoid the public eye:D:):p

I've read the book. It is an interesting read into one of gambling's most colorful characters. I was a little surprised to see Fast Larry quotes but the book is very well written.

I can't wait for this one to come out. I've read all the books I can find on the great pool stories that have come out in the recent years. This sounds like a great one!

Bill,

I purchased the book at the Derby this year. A very good read indeed, but was also very surprised to see FL's quotes.

Thanks for taking the time to explain your original post and to inform us about the November release of the 2nd edition paper back.
