    "Hydraulic"...??

That's what I learned to call this effect as well. Never heard "hydraulic" until JJ yesterday.

Gorst shot: how is he aiming?

That's Ouschan, not Gorst. I don't know if he has a system, but I aim this shot by feel.

    Difficult to agree on

As long as you do pull it toward you such that the cue is moving forward (from the cue's perspective in this case), I think this would be legal. It doesn't seem to me like it would actually help achieve the desired result in any way though.

Super Billiards Expo considering closing over pandemic

Not all of us. Just horrifyingly many of us. History is full of devastating plagues from before medical science had advanced to the point of actual effectiveness. They used to take out percentages of human populations that have become unimaginable in the days of modern medicine and hygiene...

Super Billiards Expo considering closing over pandemic

Pretty sure you have a conflict of interest there, Coach.

Tom Hanks, NBA, March Madness, Predator NE Tour and SBE All Victims of Corona Virus

Hand washing will still help. Viruses live many times longer on surfaces than they do in air, so even if it's equally infectious in both contexts, wiping surfaces and washing hands will significantly reduce your chances of getting sick.

Air travel with your cues... what does everyone use?

I got a cheap long duffel bag off Amazon for like $25. Really sturdy canvas and zipper, long enough to fit my cue case, and big enough to pack a week's worth (with room to spare) of clothing around the case to protect it.

Corey Deuel v. Dr. Dave: mirror measurement for kick shot

I can see he uses the cushion nose, but my point was that I really don't believe it mattered much. There's a vanishingly small range of aim lines he can use and still make it around the 6, which is not much more than a ball width off the rail to my eyes. Maybe it's the camera angle, but you...

Corey Deuel v. Dr. Dave: mirror measurement for kick shot

Not to split hairs, but in fact if Corey had used the rail groove I believe he would have hit the 6 ball. His line of aim was decided for him by the need to go around the 6, so I think he was using the mirror technique to determine the difference between his line and the natural line, to know...

    Stick on table for alignment

I pick it back up before moving into my stance. I don't like having the tip near the CB while moving my whole body toward the shot, seems like a recipe for a silly foul.

    Extensions?? Feedback

I used to use a mid extension like that, but I much prefer the rear one I have now, because it's much easier to put on and take off for a single shot as needed.

Geometry: How could a Diamond bank differently than a Brunswick?

Light reflects off a mirror at those perfect angles your geometry teacher taught you about. Just about nothing else in the real world does. First of all, the CB, although it doesn't really look like it to your eyes, loses almost half its speed when it bounces off a cushion, if hit straight...

    Biado giving Chua the 8?!

It was at the 2018 US International Open if memory serves. Chua was getting backed by Roy I believe.

Cuetec Cynergy Shaft Initial Impression and Review

The first time I hit with a Cynergy (with the stock sniper) I loved the hit. So, to each their own I guess.

Cuetec Cynergy Shaft Initial Impression and Review

I play with Rogue 11.8 and have a few buddies that I shoot with all the time who have the Cynergy. We've all played with each other's cues (go ahead and laugh at the phrasing) enough to get a clear picture of the differences, so I can offer a little insight. The Cynergy definitely deflects...

When does equipment make a difference?

The car analogy is an interesting one, it's very inapplicable in many ways, but it still holds a good nugget of truth, that too many people are focusing on the equipment rather than the technique. For one thing, cue performance is not like cars. Lewis Hamilton, lapping the same track, first...

Do you play with your nicer Cue away from home

Why would I have a nice cue if I wasn't going to play with it? I'm starting to think a lot of you people have a weird relationship with cues.

    Deuel versus Chohan

If you think Tony can only play one game, come up with a decent size barrel to shoot at him playing 10-ball, and I'm sure he'll be happy to take it from you. He may only be a world-beater at one game, but he still plays the rest at a pro level. He's a fargo 750, and there's no one pocket in...
