    Cue repair- Wrap

Yes, that was a good answer. Since you've never had the same problem with linen before, perhaps the linen is coming apart, as odd as it sounds. Hopefully you find someone close to you, or maybe a traveling cue repair guy at a tourney close by. Linen rewrap should only be in the $50 range.

    Unconscious

Compliment. Like saying he's in the zone. Or in dead stroke. Or a hundred other sayings that mean the guy just doesn't miss.

    Cue repair- Wrap

I must not be understanding something because a linen rewrap is a pretty easy job. Stacked leather is a bit trickier, but still well within the "doable" range for most cue repairman. Your cue is a brand new Schon custom? So, I'm assuming you spent a couple bucks. But now they won't rewrap it...

Room Size for a Pool Table

Quick and easy answer: you need a minimum of 5 feet all the way around the table if you don't want to ever use a shorty cue. So, yeah, 15'x20' is just enough for a 9 foot table. If you want chairs, a table, a bar, etc., then you'll need more room. Probably at least 5 extra feet on one side. So...

    Scoop Jump

Yeah, you gotta love those places/players. If you even think about playing a safety they'd shoot you, but if your last ball is in the kitchen they always seem to scratch. ;)

Speaking of cue weight.... Any science to it?

DoubleD and others: yes, you're right that I used the incorrect equation. Nor will I try to argue the math with you. You've always proven (to me at least) that you know what the heck you're talking about. I wasn't truly meaning to get to the nitty gritty of the science of a shot. I was just...

Speaking of cue weight.... Any science to it?

Yes, conservation of momentum says mass 1 x velocity 1 = mass 2 x velocity 2. So, 21 ounce cue stick x 5 mph swing = 6 ounce cue ball x 17.5 mph ball speed; and, 17 ounce cue stick x 5 mph swing = 6 ounce cue ball x 14.1 mph ball ball speed. But, none of these numbers explain what makes...

Do you do anything before playing?

Pee. Get a drink. Find my table. Put my cues together. Flip a coin.

    New shaft break in ?

    Well, yeah, everybody knows that.

    Meucci, Another Joke

I can see where some might think this is an insult, but it's really not. When you give a gift to someone, it's theirs to do with as they please. Common convention says you keep the gift, but it's not a law. When he presented the cue to Buddy, did Bob say, "You can have this cue only if you play...

    New shaft break in ?

That makes no sense to me. Do you have to break the ferrule in, too?

Anyone interested in Radial pins at $5.00 each?

I'm sure your machine shop would take detailed measurements directly off your sample Radial pin and discover for themselves that the correct numbers are 7.62 tpi. 3 threads per 1 cm x 2.54 cm per inch = 7.62 tpi. Once you get them made and have a couple of cue makers use them with...

    5/16 14 pin

No problem. I didn't start things off very well, either. It's just that the same old threads about tip X vs. tip Y, or shaft A vs. shaft B, or chalk 1 vs. chalk 2 get kind of old after a while. If the argument is strictly over subjective non-measurable feelings, then we're all just wasting our...

    Build a cue

Your design is nice. Wish I could make it for you, but I'm swamped. A couple things: 1. You want 5 points up and 3 points down. You want the down points to be centered between the up points. However, 3 down points cannot all be centered between 5 up points. The math doesn't work. 3 down points...

    5/16 14 pin

I wasn't trying to be dismissive about any cue component. Maybe I was having a bad day. Obviously my words didn't properly convey my meaning to some of you guys. Perhaps starting off my post with "let's stop b***s***ing ourselves" wasn't the best beginning. Apparently I was feeling a little...

    WTB Baltimore Bullet DVD

I posted this is Wanted/For Sale, but there's way more traffic here, so... I've searched the internet for The Baltimore Bullet on DVD. A couple results come up, but they're iffy looking sites - nothing on a reputable web site. VHS versions are pretty easy to find, but I haven't had a VCR in a...

    WTB "Baltimore Bullet" on DVD

I've searched the internet for The Baltimore Bullet on DVD. A couple results come up, but they're iffy looking sites - nothing on a reputable web site. VHS versions are pretty easy to find, but I haven't had a VCR in a decade. Maybe the movie isn't even available on DVD. Thanks, Jeff

Cue extension for a Predator sneaky.

You're allowed to change shafts during a match, so inserting an extension wouldn't be any different. The important thing is that you gotta do stuff like this during your turn, NOT while your opponent is at the table. I know people that have a break shaft and a playing shaft for their cue and...
