    The best fluorescent bulb ?

Hi There, A little late to the game, but I'll chime in on color temperature. My preference is for much warmer light, closer to 3000Kº. Incandescent light is in that range. The cooler 5000Kº and blue cloth is too cool, in my opinion. You might want to do a side by side comparison.

    Flying With Cue Cases?

carry on... no problem Hi, I just returned from a week in Phoenix. BOS > PHX non stop on AA. I wasn't sure what to expect, but from multiple threads here on AZ> I wasn't optimistic. I carried no frills 1x1 through security and on to the plane in both directions. No one said a word or seemed...

    Need Fluorescent/LED Light Help

I have a different opinion on the Diamond light, at least my Diamond light. I have an old one that is approximately 4x8 feet. Mine has 8 @ 4' T8 florescent tubes. The illumination on the table is very even... as even as I've seen, with the exception of a TV table properly lit. My rails are...

    Palmer Collector(s)

I bought my first cue, a Model A, at the 289 Morris Ave shop... in 1968. I visited the Westfield Ave shop too, but that location was opened at least a year later. They were just a block apart. At that time, Frank Paradise's shop was up Morris Avenue a block, just on the other side of...

    UPDATES: 2017 77th BottleDeck.net World 14.1

I just heard the hooves on the cobblestone.... with the rider shouting " two if by sea", I think... A lot of street noise, so it could have been "two if by Lee". I caught a glance of the rider and he went by.... weird, but it looked like he had a pool cue in his hand. Thanks to all who...

    UPDATES: 2017 77th BottleDeck.net World 14.1

... and the winner is? Hi, Yes, I live in a world where communication is by tin cans and string.... I admit it! I know the match was to 300... are they both playing poorly and still at it? If someone would post the results, I [ maybe we] would appreciate it. Feel free to add as much...

2017 American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship

Thanks for posting this. This event seem to be growing and with good reviews. Is there any information about this year's "World 14.1" that Dragon puts on at Steinway? Last year is was moved to early September after years of a mid summer date.

    Balls dont break apart well

There isn't much information provided about the location of the table. Let's here some more from the original poster. ...Maybe the table is located in a damp basement?... just speculating. ;-] I've gotta laugh. This thread is sort of a Rorschach Test. Everything from moisture > to> you're...

    Balls dont break apart well

Dan- I am thinking> a pool table at about 60℉ has warm air introduced to the room... that cooler mass of the table will cause some condensation. It might be slight, but with the large surface area of cloth on the table acting as a sponge, it may effect the roll. I'm interested to know the...

    Balls dont break apart well

Trouble shooting something like this can lead to lots of head scratching. Your first thought was the temperature of the room. Did you mention the current temperature? Consider this... you have a substantial thermal mass with the slate in the table. If you have warm air introduced to a colder...

    Led table light?

I'd suggest a color temperature around 3000 K... many of these produce light that is very cool > up around 5000K. Way to blue, in my opinion. All this has more meaning if your cloth is blue. Additionally, the size of the light source is in direct relationship to the harshness of the...
