    S.A.M. Question for SPF Instructors

Hi, How does a larger cue ball affect SAM? I was playing on a bar box with a great big cue ball and had a lot of trouble using SAM on most of my shots.

    Thin Cut Shots

Does lowering the butt of your cue to the point where you're hitting slightly up on the cue ball increase accuracy on thin cut shots? I was told by a pretty strong player that this technique improves accuracy on these types of shots and on follow shots in general basically because the cue ball...

Masters Leagues: Do they cut out the majority of issues handicapped leagues present?

You get some of that in league play, but I've experienced all of those same things just playing at bars too. More often than not, I find league play to be a more structured and fun experience than just random match-ups. I would highly recommend playing in a Masters division. You'd be playing...

What's your APA 9-ball Skill Level?

Right on! It's like one of those Snickers bar commercials. 'Not going anywhere for a while? Have a snickers.'

What's your APA 9-ball Skill Level?

I agree with what you're saying but I'd be willing to bet that half the people who said they were 9s aren't 9s. I think ironically that many of the people who answered the poll and made their skill levels higher than they really are are the same people who pad their innings to keep their skill...

What's your APA 9-ball Skill Level?

Bullshit! There aren't that many 9s. I still don't know what all that A player B player C player shit means. It's seems very confusing and subjective.

    9-ball break advanced question.

If you want to learn all about rack reading, where the balls go, and how to play specific balls, buy Joe Tucker's 'Racking Secrets' DVD. It's an outstanding DVD and It'll teach you just about everything you want to know about the 9-ball break. I bought this and some of his instructional DVDs...

What's your APA 9-ball Skill Level?

My guess is that most of the people that picked 9 are liars. I would expect there to be a lot of 6s and 7s, but the disproportionate number of 9s ranks pretty high on the bullshit meter to me.

    I need advice!

I would just send him the book, even if he is in the wrong and you are in the right. You may cost yourself lots more than $20 in sales from bad PR if you let your emotions get the best of you. Arguing or sending nasty email to the guy won't accomplish anything. Just protect yourself in the...

    Best Production Cue

Mezz is a really solid cue. I shot with a Mezz cue for about 6 months and was very happy with the way it played. Just didn't like the Irish Linen wrap. I have a Predator BK2 and a Predator Air and both are pretty good but not great. Mezz is probably better than Predator and costs less. Mezz...

What's your APA 9-ball Skill Level?

I'm a SL7, unlike most of the imposters who answered the poll. I love how the skill levels tend to be so much higher than reality in these polls. 27% SL 9. LOL! More 9-s than any other skill level. Yeah, right! No SL1, 2, or 3s. I like that too.

    Pool on TV

I agree. I rarely ever watch ESPN pool any more. I don't like the editing of the matches and the commentary is usually horrible there. I've got a big collection of DVDs and youtube and streaming video that are a lot better than the crap coverage ESPN provides.

    Pool on TV

Hopefully some knowledgeable people here can answer my question about pool on TV. How come men's pool gets almost no TV time and almost all of the pool on TV is women's pool? With the exception of trick shots and speed pool, it's almost all women's pool on TV. Why is this?

    Shaft cleaning questions

Pumice hand cleaner, the stuff you can buy at an automotive store, works great to clean all the chalk and other crap that accumulates in your shaft. Also, using green chalk instead of blue will help keep your shaft a lot cleaner to begin with. That blue chalk is filthy stuff.
