A T.V show that would have been better than The Hustlers

As somebody simply wanting entertainment, Scott's show would be far more interesting for me. But, as somebody that would like pool to be considered a legitimate sport, I doubt it would be very good for the promotion of pool players as athletes. Too many average Joe types think of either thugs...

    Amarillo TX.

I spent two weeks working in Amarillo and went there nightly. Not aggressively looking for hard action, but looking to match up with anybody. I even asked the staff for help. Nothing for the whole time I was there until the last night. As soon as I walked in, the staff tells me "there's a guy...

    >>>>> Most Recognizable Cue <<<<<

Based on my experience I'd have to say: Tad Cogs Gina Prewitt Judd Josey and Bobby Hunter (can't tell the two apart from a distance, but am usually sure it's one or the other)

Ivory ban: Are you afraid to offend people with your ivory cues?

I personally love the look of ivory in inlays, joints, and ferrules. I don't like the ivory ferrules or joints in my personal player as I feel the ferrules are heavier, and being in a hot to cold dry area, would be concerned with maintenence. Not interested in throwing more fuel into a debate...

    Question about deflection?

The last year I spent in Japan was 2007, and at the time, the all Japan amateur champion used the Predator break cue as his playing cue. At that time, I dare to say that it was one of the first or second editions of break cues that they made. He liked it because it still had pretty low...

    Best "production cue" builder

Mezz hands down. Spent 19 years in Japan working trades (carpenter related), and have been in the trades here in the states for 7 years. So far, based on examples of what I've seen from craftsmen and trade workers, the attention to detail, and pride in ones workmanship over there has exceeded...

Radial vs G-10 pin ? Which one best Joint?

I'm sure you'd be able to tell the difference between your Cog and another cue, but (especially with Cogs) I dare to say that it's more shaft than joint pin. If you were to try the test with two different Cogs (not your player) with different pins, I think it would be nearly impossible to tell...

    Best Colorado pool halls?

I personally go to Mile High the most for practice, and when I feel I've been hitting them good lately I'll go down to Felt for their big table tournaments. As far as I know, Mile High doesn't have any big table tournaments anymore, and that place is primarily known for the boxes (action too)...

When a cue plays too good............

I think I actually do, or "think" that I do a little bit of both depending on the shot. By that I mean I'll cue right and brush to the right on shots where I feel like I need extreme spin. A good example is if I end up fairly close to straight but a touch on the wrong side of a side pocket ball...

    'Hanks" billiards,Wheatrige Co

Guess I'm gonna have to stop in. Now that I'm back from Utah and haven't hit an honest ball since February, the Gold Crowns there will be a little forgiving that the STUPID tight 9 footers and Mile High. I like an 'honest' table, but there is such thing as too tight as far as I'm concerned. dave

what's the sene like nowadays in Tokyo?

Keisuke is probably correct. Hard to tell, as back then, as always in Japan we called each other by the sir name with "san" "kun" or "puro". Hanawa was actually rookie of the year his first year as a pro but then kinda faded around '08 or so. Oi was the house pro at a small room called Flannel...

what's the sene like nowadays in Tokyo?

Is Don Don still around? Esquillio? Also I remember Efren has a nephew that pretty much lives in Japan, Bando Reyes I think. Bando is the only Philippino player I've ever met that chocked anytime we played for more than 10,000 yen sets. I used to play at a place called Duck in Saitama where...

    SVB/Alex...Don't Clean The Balls?

I frequent three different places. Two of the places keep their balls very clean while the latter doesn't. After getting used to dirty balls and the way you can grab and spin them in, I find it difficult to go to a clean ball set because spin won't alter their paths as much. With dirty balls, I...

Don't Want Anyone To Know They Play BB

Only recently started playing on the boxes, and no I haven't run a 7 pack on one yet. However my chances of running packages are much higher on a box than on a 9 footer. I'm starting to enjoy and gain some respect for the boxes, but I still insist that I can be beaten by a lesser skilled player...

    Vernal Utah?

Thank you. I'm aware of most of the names you mentioned, and not looking to take down any champs. Didn't know Durbin was in the Utah area however. Seriously was hoping to find big tables, or at least playable bar tables with something a little more than bar bangers. Don't want any trouble the...

No good deed goes unpunished...and I feel a little stupid.

Sucks..........I just can't believe the guy would go through so much trouble to scam his way into a $500 cue.... Dave
