    Have you thought about putting the Taper Bars down lower and out of the way? Then you could have the Steppers on the front side of the piece and the Router on the back side. This would help balance the weight better on the Carriage. Still a fair amount of weight for those small lathes though.

    Bob, you might want to consider making some just for Forearms if you have big blocks or wide planks. Personally I think 1-1/2" squares are too big. 14" long x 1.250 x 1.250 *
