    Having some pins made

I don't think there is a general consensus but 3/8-10 and 5/16-14 seem to be the most common. 5/16-18 is also very common since you can buy the taps and threaded rod anywhere. My personal preference is Uni-Loc but I have no plans to use it in my cues. Here is a link to the different makers and...

    Having some pins made

I would heed KJ's advice and put a lot of thought into this before you go plunking down a bunch of cash. Making a bolt and making a precision pin are not the same thing. If a bolt is in tolerance and fits its good. The pin has to be precise on all dimensions and inter-related. I've never worked...

    Help: Porter Cable 7310

Thanks Kim. I read that a while back and also printed it out in case I ever needed it. I am not sure if new bearings will fix the problem but they aren't very expensive and it seems worth a shot. I don't think I have a bearing puller like the one pictured but I do have the 3-arm type so...

    Help: Porter Cable 7310

Bob, does the bearing control lateral movement as well as radial? There is no play from side to side as you'd expect with worn bearings. Also as an FYI, I only have maybe 200 hours on the router.

    Help: Porter Cable 7310

I was wondering why my trimmer has been having problems holding dimensions. I use the router mounted horizontally (parallel to the bed) on the cross slide and cut with the bottom of the bit. I don't want to mount it vertically as I already have my dust collection working well. I just noticed...

    Lucasi Uniloc Frozen

You could also try using freeze spray. They sell it at electronics stores, I used to use it to test electronic components for heat problems. It evaporate very quickly and will shrink the metal components. Make sure you get one with a thin straw so you can get it right into the joint and not on...

    Atlas Billiards

Agreed, I try to do the same but telling me to "buy more stuff to offset the cost" is lame. I just ordered 2 large drills, 2 boring bars, a dozen 8 0z. bottles, Markers, Shim Assortment AND a 1 Gallon jug of oil and the shipping was $14.95 from Enco 2 months ago I ordered 4 pins, a bag of...

All New 5" wide bindless Carriage

Bassel, I have a suggestion for you. Now that you have all that extra room on top of the carriage, why not add a DRO or a mount for a Indicator? Maybe a bar with a flat sticking out from the Cross Slide. Then to mount an Indicator, run a slot across the Carriage, tap a couple holes in the...

A simple fix for the "Wanted/For Sale" section.....your thoughts?

Well put. I don't know what the real problem is either. Banner ads serve nothing more that to draw people to your website and products. If you are selling XYZ cue for $500 and I find the same exact XYZ cue on Ebay, Craigslist, AZ or BobsBargainBlowout.com for $300. hmmm, guess where I am going...

Wanted/For Sale Section to Change in New Year

Where to start If I had to do this I would start like this: Realize that no matter what we decide to do it is impossible to make everyone happy. Either use a notebook or make files on the computer (actually I'd use both) - Write a mission statement or what the goal or primary purpose is...

Wanted/For Sale Section to Change in New Year

Gave a little thought to this earlier. I saw a couple ideas that were interesting such as requiring drivers licenses. 2 problems with that idea (and several like it). 1 - Getting fakes made up is fairly easy. 2. It puts the onus on AZ to verify and police this. Thus, it makes them MORE...

Wanted/For Sale Section to Change in New Year

I read a bit of the stuff in this post. Some great ideas some not so much. The point I think that may be missed is how to prevent the owners from being sued. If a blanket Disclaimer won't do it then how do they protect themselves? Now anybody can sue anybody for anything. There are supposed to...

Wanted/For Sale Section to Change in New Year

Kind of hard to think of a solution when I don't exactly know what the problem is. I know they can't discuss open suits but more info would help. Can you accurately define the problem without saying anything to upset Legal?
