    Machinist Tools

Glad you liked the Calipers. Mitutoyo makes some nice tools. That was the one item I thought several times about keeping. The one tool I am surpsied nobody has snatched yet are the Mit. Uni-Mikes.

    Westinghouse Micarta Ferrules

Are these the Ivory colored ones or the yellow micarta thats been going around lately? I'd be interested if they are the old Ivory color.

    Machinist Tools

Yeah I wish we'd just convert to Metric and get it over with. I guess its the old guys like me. You say 47 inches and I know its an inch under 4 foot but if you say 47mm then I have to figure it out.... although, I now know thats about the width of 4 ferrules. At least I have .03937 down :)

    motors and controllers

Electronics are iffy. Older electronics are almost always more reliable than new stuff. You research the items, read the specs and hopefully get some outside advice but you never really know until its been in the field for a while. Chris told me he had some issues with the electronic controllers...

    Machinist Tools

LAST CALL. Just wanted to give the people here a shot at these before I sell them elsewhere. Thanks to those who purchased some of them. Oh, if you guys don't know what the Uni-Mics are (Anvil Mics) read a bit about them on the net. They work like regular 0-1" mics but you can replace the pin...

Anyone know the maker of this lathe?

    I thought so but didn't want to be a show-off :)

Anyone know the maker of this lathe?

They wouldn't be rigid but I think the problem is more to what Neil alluded. You need a drilling tailstock to make them usable. I looked at them a while back and if you put that into a regular MT2 tailstock you'd have to crank that wheel in each time. Trust me, you'd hate it quickly. Plus how...

    Ivory for sale 37.8 oz.

Which Auction House do you work for in PA? We used to go to a lot of auctions in PA, Stoners, Horst, PA Auctions, etc... We would get great deals on Books, Asian items, China and Glassware but the prices on Country items and Silver always went way too high. Although, one time I did get an old...

    Bench Vise and Hacksaw

If you get a Dremel get one with the Flex Shaft. Do NOT buy the ergonomic shaft. Get the one with the straight Steel Shaft. Its not too hard to make up a holder to mount on your lathe. If not, you have to make up a special holder to hold the Dremel by the head and it has an odd thread, something...

    Bench Vise and Hacksaw

I go along with Dave. For $40 you can't beat it. I use a radiac type wheel in an angle grinder but if I didn't already have the AG I would buy one of these. Every machineshop I've worked in had at least one and it will cut through just about anything (carbide excluded). Neil is also right...

    Ivory for sale 37.8 oz.

Ivory The $125 offer I PMed you is still good. Given that it has at least 8 significant cracks, several connected and it surely wasn't sealed properly, I would be scared to use any of the large chunk to make ferrules so I would only get small slabs...... most of which is going to fall apart...

Interested in a Group AZ Cuemaker's Booth at SBE 2012?

That is a valid Point. You always have to watch for people trying to abuse the rules. But its not what we are trying to do here. We are going to have only one person in the booth, who may or may not be selling something. The person only gets one hour as well (A lot of interest, it would be cut...

Interested in a Group AZ Cuemaker's Booth at SBE 2012?

Sounds like a good idea. I've had about 1/2 a dozen people contact me so far saying they would be interested. I don't know if I'll bring anything to sell but I'm certainly up for meeting some of the people here. Shoot me a PM with your contact info and we'll talk once we get at least 1/2 the...

    Question for Deluxe users???

I would love to get one as well. I think there are only 2 people that modify those Taig Chucks for the proper thread and bore. Chris is one.

Interested in a Group AZ Cuemaker's Booth at SBE 2012?

I got a couple PMs saying that sharing a booth might not be allowed. Darn shame. Maybe they'll change their mind after having a bunch of empty booths like last year. I don't understand what the problem would be? Accountability, snobbiess towards the little guys (hope not)? You have 100's (if...

Reasons to Break with a Separate Cue

Nice explanation Neil. The reason I use 2 different cues is that my break cue has a harder tip. I don't use any English on the break so I am looking for solid impact. My stick does not touch the table so bending my shaft is not a consideration. This also cuts down on the number of times I have...
