BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Well, it's kind of against the rules to form teams in this fashion. But for individuals, they can just play their minimum 8 weeks of play in a sanctioned league (on 8 different nights) and come and play. There is always going to be an issue with countries half way around the world from the US...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

There was a commentator on the TAR Stream that even mentioned that all the Taiwan players lived 8 HOURS (not 800 miles) from each other by car, and possibly 5 hours by train. I think it was Charlie Williams who said that, and quickly the conversation got turned off the subject. This was...

Main Street Billiards (Mesa, AZ) getting their house tables "Diamond-ized" by Zak

Zach does amazing work and we are very lucky to have him here in the Valley to fix up so many great rooms! We are all very lucky to have rooms in Glendale, Chandler and Mesa with tables that play as true as any in the country! I hope all the rooms make this wise investment in his abilities...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

I know the BCAPL is doing what they can to validate players, but with this pattern repeating itself again and again, how can we not just make a simple rule. All International Players should have to play in the Advanced or Above Divisions Immediately! It wouldn't be okay for the entire United...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

These guys were amazing players. I spoke to one of the girls with them that spoke english before my match for 33rd place in the OPEN. She stated that they came from all over the country and it was an 8 hour car ride for any of them to play together. She said that most of them only met up at...

    Meucci or Pechauer?

Well, my last 2 cues were almost exactly what you are asking about here. I played with the Meucci for a number of years and it was very nice. But about 2 years ago I got me a nice Pechauer with Predator Shaft and have never looked back. It hits amazing and with a Kamui Tip I can't see using...

    SoHo Billiards

I never had any issues stirring up $50 sets at Amsterdam, but at Soho it was a little harder to get anything going unless it was setup ahead of time or someone could steer ya. Some of the tables at Soho are in pretty bad shape.

    Pro tournaments..

I'm looking at some dates as well, prob a little later than your dates listed here. But we are gonna run a $5000 added tournament in Phoenix and hoping to draw a couple pro's as well. We have the BCAPL Southwest Regional on Labor Day Weekend here in Arizona. Turning Stone I think is right...

    Brackets for BCA Nationals

I emailed Glenna about this last week, her response: Hi Jerry, The brackets are posted immediately after the draw. I believe that takes place a couple of days prior to the start of an event unless we are taking on-site entries. If we are taking on-site entries, the draw is done “last...

Random ball colliding with the cue ball during the break

Just jump the cueball straight up into the air a foot or so and have it bounce to avoid that 30%! You should be able to reduce the scratch chances down another 10-15%!

Do you tip a TD who also played in the event?

Yeah, Arizona Culture is a different breed. Many TD's for Weekly Tournaments will charge $2-3 per head that shows for the tournament. Or they'll charge $7 or $12 to enter and take the $2 for themselves. But after running tourneys for a few weeks or months they get burned out and the tourney...

Do you tip a TD who also played in the event?

I've heard this before, and I just don't get it. Why would anyone say that the TD couldn't play in the tournament, as long as the tournament was run well? The Draw is done in front of other people, ran on a computer and board, play moves quickly and the tournament finishes in 1 day. For this...

Do you tip a TD who also played in the event?

The entry was $35, and there were sidepots as well that the TD had to put in themselves if they wanted them. No discount for any player, including the TD.
