Szamboti, Ginacue, Southwest, James White, Paul Mottey for sale

AMAZING!!! Quite a collection. Is JMW James M White by chance? Would love to have any of those. Some people are gonna get some beautiful cues. I'm a fan of Ginacue myself, but have Tascarella and Mottey on my list as well. If I only had the money to get a couple.

    Best Chalk

I think you hit the nail right on the head. Seems to me pool is such a personal game, with so many personal preference of choices, chalk HAS to be one of them. I'm gonna go and get a selection of different chalks and try them myself.

    Pool Cue Case

I can wait the time it takes for a case to be built. Time is really not my concern, I'm more concerned with the materials used, and more important, the protection it offers. I didn't post this thread to create a "pissing contest" between different makers.... I did it more for a consensus on...

Why do certain pros like prefer Gold Crowns?

I prefer a GC over any other table..... but in reality, I'm sure you can have most tables customized with the rails you like, pocket size, felt, and slate. I would get a GC for the name and history, but at the same time I would get the Tournament Edition and have tight pockets on it with...

Does Whitten even make regular case or only the "light" version of it?

    Best Chalk

I was gonna ask also about Silver Cup chalk..... Any difference? I was thinking about going down to the supply store and getting a couple cubes of them all and giving each one a good fair shake. But I would rather have a consensus on what people are playing with and going with what others are...

    Pool Cue Case

A 4x8 case would let me bring a few cues to the pool hall, in case I didn't like the feel of one, I could take out another (Yes I do like a little variety). But also depending where I go, I could have cheaper cues, or if I go to my normal place, I could bring my better equipment with me. I've...

    Hard or Soft "HIT"

You definatly have a point Lisa. So even something as minor as a tip change can affect hit. What's the difference between the different ferule materials - Ivory vs Micatra vs Delrin? Soft, Med, Hard tips?

Anyone ever had the Mike Gulyassy finish put on their shaft?

Cool, thanks...... I read that page a while back, even contemplated it, but didn't like that it only lasts for 2 years..... as the only drawback. Seemed to me like a good idea, just wish it would last longer.

    I finally got THE call

Who is Laurie Franklin? Who is her husband? What kind of cue are you getting?

Anyone ever had the Mike Gulyassy finish put on their shaft?

What is the coating? Does it seal the wood or help to keep it a little more slick?

    Pool Cue Case

Hey All.... Looking for recommendations on cue cases. I have an Action 2x4 right now and I've out-grown it. Been poking around a lot of websites trying to figure out what a good case is. I'm thinking I need a 4x8 case at least. I don't really want to stay with the vinyl cases, cause I...

Help! I need a new cue

Depends on your budget.... do you want something fancy, something cheap and good to start out with, something with a resale value to it? Fancy - Starts at about 1K and goes up really fast Cheap and good - Chris Nitti sneaky pete, Mike Stacey sneaky pete (both have solid hits and will set you...

    Best Chalk

Hey DogsPlayingPool - Funny you bring that up, and Ironic this thread is here. I was just talking about this very subject a couple days ago with the guys at the pool hall. We all came up with the conclusion that chalk, is chalk, is chalk. It's really all made out of the same stuff. I wanted...

If you have bad habits, what are they?

Happens to all of us dr9ball..... That's what kills me the most. I can make some really hard shots and make it look pretty and easy, set up the next shot almost spot on where I wanted the cue ball, and then miss the next shot cause I rushed it, or worse.... make the next shot and loose control...

If you have bad habits, what are they?

Manwon is totally right. I try and keep a song in my head, usually a slow and melodic one as one focal point (even sing it softly aloud to myself to keep from looking around at other tables and stats). My other focal point is very simply what I have to do on the table, I know what the...

    cues

Weight, balance, how does it feel when you stroke it, how does it feel when you hit a ball, consistency of feel & hit, and last but not least.... the sound it makes when it hits the ball and is that sound replicated EVERY time you hit the ball.
