you can find some pool tables in other places, but we have only three pool rooms in town. we are 800.000 or a little more than that.

i don't know why but is easier to me the cut with the cueball frozen on the rail... also even if you give a little unwanted spin you can compensate for that, i find much harder to do it on a straight in shot.

it is not true that pool isn't expensive. The average cost for an hour in the pool rooms in my hometown is 9€ ( almost 12$). Usually when you play against other people if you lose you pay the table time. So if you lose a match which lasts 1 hour you have to pay 9€. Because I usually play more...

I don't mind the darker wood but i don't like that the maple has more figure ( if I understand correctly what you mean with "figure", I'm talking about the wood is not of an uniform color but has some variation in color)..

I wouldn't like to see straight pool played on 3,6 in pockets. I think 4,5 in pockets on a 5 x 10 is ok. Also in snooker usually when a ball is near the cushion is considered safe and you need to develop it or play safe and I don't want to see that in straight pool.

I'm not saying there isn't luck in straight pool, but I feel it plays a very small factor in this game. if you play 9 ball you know luck plays a big factor, if you can't stand it why don't you play other games?
