I saw the poster of the 8 ball open tournament and it is kind of sad seeing pool associated with weed. I have nothing against weed and in holland is legal afaik but this doesn't help pool's image.

not really.. it was just a clarification.. I couldn't care less how you pronunce meucci. If you pronunce Meucci "mewcci" in Italy you look silly for sure, but can happen.
Earl Strickland pronunce it "meeucci" or "mewcci" like the user below.
it is a wrong pronunciation, it's like Schon which should be pronunciated like "Schoen" and it is pronunciated Shawn
To clarify:
in this video, the wrong pronunciation at 0:08:

a Meucci ( which the "ME" part is pronunced like "Mel" Gibson, is not "Meel" Gibson, a lot of americans pronunce it "Meeucci").
Anyway Efren talked about that cue and he said he throw it away because "it was unlucky" ( he was smiling when he said that).
I always thought that kind of grip wasn't that loose... here an example at 0:45, where you can see ronnie's grip hand doesn't look perpendicular to the ground but looks forward. Particularly obvious when you compare ronnie's grip with efren (...
when balls are frozen is a different situation because the friction between the two balls is much higher so the spin transfered is much more.
sorry but this is not a really good example because the top bank pool players ( or pool players in general) believe more in their experience and pratice...
Many people don't believe spin can be transfered from the cueball to the OB.
This video proves it:

if the spin is transfered, we should see the vertical lines of the 10 ball change...
I don't think a Schon STL4 can be considered "fancy" is basically a sneaky pete with a linen wrap.
But yes: I want to buy a cue. Here in my hometown the average quality of cues is really low: i believe the average price is near 100€. There is a proshop which sell cues very overpriced, for...
really young people ( range 14-18) don't play pool also because it is very expensive.
Here, where I live it costs 9€ per hour which is 12$. When I was younger I had many friend who wanted to play but they didn't have the money.
Thanks for all the replies.
what about this question?
do you think a schon is too much for being the first cue? I always played with house cues ( 5 years).
The thing is this is my first cue and I probably stick with that cue for a long time and I'm a little "worried" I could not like the hit. Also do you think a schon is too much for being the first cue? I always played with house cues ( 5 years)
