Is inside english harder for you to use?

Inside english magnifies collision induced throw. If the object ball is hit where the ghost ball would normally be, the increased throw will push the object ball short of the pocket. Dirty balls are even worse. Inside is much more difficult to master but worth the effort.

    Sugartree followers

I would ask for scallops in the butt sleeve and either Westinghouse Micarta or natural phenolic joint depending on the wood. The wood is the most important decision and as Coco said, leave that up to Eric. That way you will get the best wood he has. I like spalted maple though. Scallops in the...

TAD vs. Scruggs - Hit, Feel, and Feedback...??? overall Playability

I am a Scruggs SP player from way back, love them. The Tad PJ I had for a while felt even better as far as feed back. Slightly stiffer hit. High praise indeed. Right up there with Lambros and Black Boar.

What's your favorite section of AzBilliards Forum?

I usually hit the new post button, but that has led to several threads in NPR. Every time I go there I regret it, such childish bickering, and mindless cut and paste BS. Is there a way to search all new posts except NPR? Overall AZ is a great forum, but NPR brings it down several notches. I...

    advice about buying/ trying cues

If you find a place to try a few cues hit a few with a one piece house cue first. That is the feel you are looking for, solid without a lot of vibration or buzz. A good test is to hit a ball medium/soft speed, then hit one hard with a tip of english. If there is a big difference in feel, the...

We have three valleys with ridgebacks where I play. They play great. Some people say 860 is not good for a bar box. They are wrong.

    Help****linen or bison

I think the linen will look the best, but the bison will look good as well and would be lots easier to live with. Imho, this is a beautiful high end cue that deserves a high end wrap, such as ring tail or stingray. Those veneers are tight! Excellent craftsmanship.

How much does the tip affect the hit of a shaft?

Think of it as the tires on your car, only slightly cheaper.

    Examaning shaft straightness and theory

I agree with Nuts, but if you are selling a cue, full disclosure of any and all deviations from straight, is a must. I have been burned many times by sellers failure to mention funky rolls. A shaft with a roll just isn't worth the same as one that is perfect. Cue makers may take years to...
