I have had a couple of his cues in my shop for new shafts. They are top notch, the leather wraps he does look as good as anybodies.

I used the steel for several years and they worked ok, but had to be replaced alot. We have the option of buying the carbide ones for $220. At this price point it is hard not to change to carbide.

I was told the reason for this is it prevents the tip from mushrooming, I don not see how it would do that

The new Diamond house cues have a tip installed similar to this. They have a plastic insert that goes into the tip and then onto a ferrule. Ill takes some pics.

I have used the off set method but prefer using a separate tapper attachment. This way you do not off set and the router follows the tapper attachment for your points.

You may want that pedal if you have any intentions on doing linen wraps. It can be down without the pedal but the pedal makes it alot easier.
