This is a copy of a post that is in the Cue Machinery section. I hope that
we can generate some help for this guy and his family. Let's pitch in and
donate a cue for his cause. Remember, but for the Grace of God it could
be you.
Hello,
My name is Dave , I am 43 years old. I own Dave's Cue Repair. As of the 21st of this month, I was diagnosed with Lung & Kidney cancer. I do not have insurance at my place of employment. We are looking for donations for an auction benefit on behalf to help pay for any medical or financial expenses...that will occur over the next 3 months. All donations can be mailed to " David Hedrick...430 Hwy 332 Apt.41 , Lake Jackson, TX. 77566. " There will be a notification about the benefit posted here on AZBILLIARDS after we arrive back home from Missouri, where my mother had heart surgery. We will be home Friday, April 29th. All donations are greatly appreciated. Thanks goes to Bassel Elshaar of " Custom Cue Lathes." He's donating a custom toolbox lathe II for the auction. For any more information or questions please contact me @ 979-533-4943 or email me @ davescuerepair@yahoo.com.

I'm working on a batch of five right now, one will be a PJ and I will certainly help him out. The same as others helped me and my wife when she was seriously injured at work and we were up against it.

They should be ready I'm two weeks or close to it.

I talk to Dave a few days ago and I'm working on a cue for him now. Me and the wife are going to take a road for the benefit and give Dave the cue. Wish there was more I could do. Dave if you need anything give me a call bro.\

Here is a couple pics of the cue I am donating for the auction for my benefit. This cue will be done in time for the benefit. The cue is Cocobola and Striped Maple forearm with gray veneers. With cocobola ring work, butt sleeve is the same as the forearm with a Black ABS butt cap.On the handle it will have tan leather wrap. This is 1 of the 1st cues I have built. It has taken me 8 months to build with me taken my time on my 1st cue. So far it has turned out perfect. I hope in the future I will be able to build more cues. Building cues has always been my dream. Thanks, Dave.

We are still hoping that more cue makers will donate a custom cue for the benefit auction. We want it to be a great success. Their will be alot of pool players at the pool tournament and alot of phone bidders for the auction. Thanks Dave

Here is the cue I will be sending you Sat, I just need to finish out the shaft tomm and it will be on its way. Hope it helps you.
The font and butt section are Logan Berry, the rings are double stitch ivory checks. The joint is buffalo horn and the butt cap is phenolic, 3/8-11 brass pin.
the pics turned out a little funky when I resized them but you get the idea. I really like the logan berry it cuts nice and has a good figure to it.
