That's a very good question. The vinyl is very tough, and the stem is basically a lag bolt that has a wide base on the inside. You would probably stretch the split ring before pulling through the box itself. Thanks for asking!

I have seen this cue up close, even hit it a few times. Wicked piece of cocobolo in the sleeve! This is a great cue at a very good price......If you are a fan of the SW or Bluegrass style hit, then you would not be disappointed in the performance of this cue...

You quite honestly just might be trying too hard! Most bar boxes have that slower cloth, and you are thinking about that when you stroke. Extra adrenaline in the heat of battle also might play a part. Have someone watch your form, see if you are raising up on the forward stroke, or elevating...
