    Dr. Popper jump cue

One thing that I like about Dr Popper - that it never needs chalk, also it's very small and breaks down, so you can easily put it in your case. But one of the things that I didn't like is that if you shoot a lot of jump shots , it keeps unscrewing at the joint and sometimes the joint can pop...

    Dr. Popper jump cue

I was selling those for Mark Dimick in Las Vegas for a week and had lots of time practicing with them. It takes a little getting used to, but it's a very nice tool for close distance jump( when ob and cb half a chalk or chalk distance apart). You can do normal jumps with them too, but I prefer a...

Not sure who these guys are...

it says right there on the video who they are: Ruslan Chinahov(russian pool champion) and 14 year old russian pool prodigy Maxim Dudanets. I am from Russia so I got no problem reading cyrillic

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

On 90 degree cut to the corner I hit the cushion first, or at least that's what I think I do. I aim slightly to miss the ball and then the spin transferred from the cb sends the ob in the corner

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Sidespin. I aim straight at the center of the cue ball when lining up and using my pre-stroke routine, then when I actually shoot, I turn my cue to the inside of the pocket where the object ball is going. If I move one of the balls off the exact center line this shot is easy.

Think I've figured out CJ Wiley's "hammer stroke" method of delivering the cue

I noticed this on my second day of practicing that. My stick used to "fly up", now it stays down. I play only with an open bridge at the moment, when I try closed bridge, I am very inconsistent, doing something wrong and can't figure out what yet.

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I wish I were! My position play, even though a lot better now, but still lacking a lot. Speed control is improving, but I overshoot or undershoot a lot of balls( I mean leaving the cue ball either too far from where I intent, or too close) My consistency is getting better, but still not...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

My game slowly is getting better, using CJ's advice and his "hammer wrist" action. Had a chance to play today for a few hours and the guy that I was playing, an A player with over 40 years of experience, got pissed off and gave up, unscrewed his cue and left. Just because I was beating him...

    Bryon Fisher passing

R.I.P. Brian and condolences to the family. I was working for a month with Brian this August at the APA nationals in Vegas. We shared a hotel room together. Shocking news...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

so ... after all the measuring was done and you're actually shooting... which ball you're looking at? cue ball or object ball? I believe that when I shoot ,I do this: before getting ready to shoot, first I look at the pocket, then connect the two lines between the cue ball and the object ball...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Thanks again, CJ! I will try it and I am pretty sure the questions will come up. But I already see how it works when you practice it and make it automatic. Just like if you read my post on the previous page, about me playing in the tournament, I realized what " aiming with your foot" means...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Another thing I noticed... When I practiced, I was trying to "cock my wrist" when lifting the cue tip in front of my eyes, while preparing for the shot, before getting down on my shot, which still feels very awkward. And many times I noticed that I do better if I keep my wrist "uncocked" during...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Nice job! By the way, I got CJ's DVD in the mail! Watched it for the first time and found a lot of useful stuff! I am more confused now than ever lol I realized that I did a lot of stuff wrong. By the way, yesterday I went to play the toughest bar box tournament in town (8ball, single match...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I am a new guy that started playing pool only a couple of years ago. I don't understand a lot of technical "pool" stuff that is being discussed here, but everything that I tried from whatever CJ Wiley offered to try, worked for me and worked great. Yesterday after reading how to hit the ball...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I am a beginner too. Started playing 4 years ago. I was always wondering why I was so inconsistent in my game and why sometimes I beat players that got 30-40 years of experience playing. Also my defiance helps, I guess lol A couple of guys that have been playing pool for a long time told me that...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Thanks again, CJ! Your posts are more than helpful. Please, can you describe "hammer drill" that you were talking about? How it's done. I was trying to find it here , but I guess, I got lost in so many pages lol

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

can you say more about this , please! I was always told that your stroke is good if when the cue always goes straight after the impact and when I watch Willie, it 's sometimes completely opposite

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

I don't know about disliking them, I like them a lot! Like I said before, I started to use his "wrist thing" and no pre-stroke shooting advice and my game went up in less than a month( from a level 3 in apa to level 6) Prior to that I was always shooting on level 3, occasionally being bumped up...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

done, CJ! And thanks again for this topic, your explanation helped me to understand better what I was trying to achieve on my own by copying your style from youtube videos. And it obviously worked! My game got a lot better in short time. Undefeated this season on my league and went up 3 skill...
