Looking for some sub rail angle advice

I don't know Goeff, without having the rails and cushions in my hands, it's hard to say what's what with fact. All I know for sure is, K66 cushions mounted on a GC rail with that 23.5 degree bevel is going to set the nose height at about 1 9/16" so those rails must have had K55 cushions to begin...

Diamond uses the Artemis Intercontinental K55 billiards cushions on their 9fts. Those cushions have a more rounded nose, compared to the Superspeed K55 cushions that come more to a point. The difference is friction, the balls have more grab, cling, spin, when coming into more contact with the...

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

I'm going to say this one time only, take it for what it's worth, up to you. Brunswick GC sub-rails have a subrail 1 11/16" thick, the subrail bevel is 23.5 degrees. The cushions that fit on them, that the rails are designed for, is the K55 profile. The nose height of those K55 cushions is 1...

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

What has to be wrong is the subrail bevel, because you can't get a nose height of 1 3/8" with a 23.5 bevel, the nose has to be higher than that.

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

What's throwing me off is if the rail is 1 11/16" thick, and the subrail bevel is 23.5 degrees, K66 cushions should have a nose height of just slightly over 1 1/2" whereas K55 would be sitting around 1 27/64"ths. The picture with the cushion and ruler showing a nose height of 1 3/8" tells me the...

No, K55 nose height sits lower than K66 on the same bevel.

The Cloth under the rails can't effect the nose height by more than the thickness of the cloth itself, a out 1/32" of an inch.

1.451 is 1 29/64" nose height, and that's not what I'm reading in your picture with a ruler, I'm seeing 1 3/8"ths there.

Now hold on a minute. You at first said the cushions were at 1 1/2" nose height, but looking at your ruler in this picture posted, I'm seeing 1 3/8"ths nose height, which is just about 62.5% of the ball height, which would be in the correct nose height zone for those rails. But I do recognize...

Go ahead with your idea then, that will work too. The Monarch Superspeed K55 cushions had the same measurements as the K66, which is why so many people install the K66 cushions on GC's, what they FAIL to realize is that K55 and K66 cushions don't share the same nose height, because the triangle...

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

A lot of table manufacturers don't actually know how to build pool tables to play right, because they're more cabinet makers than pool table manufacturers. Kind of like monkey see, monkey do manufacturers. They copy some of the dimensions from other tables and just accept that's how tables are...

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

Are the cushions on your rails original? Because if they are, the manufacturer built the rails wrong in the first place if they have K66 cushions on them. What is leading you to believe the cushions are K66.

Brunswick GC sub rails are 1 11/16" thick, the bevel is 23.5 degrees, the cushions are K55, nose height is 1 27/64"s. If replaced with K66, the nose height is almost an 1/8" higher, causing the balls to get pinched under the nose, making them play very slow, effects the banks as well.

Looking for some sub rail angle advice

23.5 bevel is what's required on rails 1 11/16" thick to set the nose height of K55 cushions at 1 27/64ths. K66 cushions mounted on those dimensions sets the nose height higher, because they don't share the same nose height on a 23.5 subrail bevel.

If you don't want to take my advice, that's fine with me. But if you think the reason the nose height is to high because of the threaded insert being pulled out a little, you're wrong! The insert was over tightened and because of that, it was pulled down INTO the rail bolt hole going through the...

    Cutting rail cloth

How about the same pictures now to see what the rail cloth looks like, been long enough for any flaws to show up. But take the pictures from the pockets to the first Diamonds, not just in the middle of the rails.

    "Gold Crown" Ball Polisher

No belts, no pulleys, no sprockets, no carpets, nothing used in any ball polisher used today will be used in my new ball polisher! In fact, the buffing area isn't even round, yet has 2 turns and 2 straightaways, causing the balls way more rotation than any ball polisher ever built🤣
