How much does your playing cue weigh?

Looks like the upper end should've be higher--as I type this, there are 18 out of 102 who indicated 20 or more ounces. None under 17.

How much does your playing cue weigh?

One of the problems players feel they might have with lighter cues, is needing to shoot harder to get the same effect. That's a pretty valid concern, since, generally, the faster one moves something in sports like pool which require fine motor skills, the less accurate the movement is. This is...

How much does your playing cue weigh?

That's an interesting criticism. My idea was that since 23 or 13 oz cues weren't included in the choices, it'd be useful for voters to mention them. Perhaps the wording could've been better. Thanks.

How much does your playing cue weigh?

Yep. Sometimes a friendly postal worker will weigh a cue for you, if you'd rather not look like a drug dealer.

How much does your playing cue weigh?

Every so often there will be a post here asking what the best weight is. Sometimes someone will mention an old survey of pros that showed 1/2 of them used 19 oz cues, and another 1/3 used either 19.5 or 18.5. Equipment has changed lots since that survey, and it's been suggested that players may...

Should pool be fun or work?

It may be what makes you a good player. Changing it might ruin your game. I know a player who is two balls better when he's ticked off--and then there are some folks who couldn't hit the side of a barn with a cow when they're mad. Getting them there without getting shot is part of the fun....

Should pool be fun or work?

"Should pool be fun or work?" Yes. Now that that's out of the way, I think it's common to confuse the words "fun" and "enjoyable". Fun is a wild post-prom party. Enjoyable is sitting down with a good book. With the right mindset, pool is enjoyable work.

R There Any Top Level Pro's that DON'T usa a LD Shaft?

You know I'm right when Joey agrees with me. Because I think he should be in the Hall of Fame...not because he's a great commentator--which he is. Not because he plays a great game--which he does. But because he has done something no one in the history of pool has ever done. Not Efren, Earl, or...

R There Any Top Level Pro's that DON'T usa a LD Shaft?

I think part of the confusion in this kind of discussion comes from misunderstanding what a LD shaft is. It doesn't have to have come from OB, Predator, or some other company specifically marketing LD shafts--if you're playing with a "standard" shaft and it is 12mm, you are playing with a LD...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

The biomechanics of cue sports is very poorly understood, because it has never really been studied. There have been some good studies in golf, tennis, and other sports. Most useful for this thread are probably the ones which consider the wrist-forearm-elbow combination acting as a "double...

10 YEAR OLD TIME CAPSULE POST ...Is the world ready for cues to evolve?

This research may have something to do with this topic: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/09/110903142411.htm The cue this guy has created might be the best cue in the world for all I know...but what I do know for sure is that it will be hard to get it accepted by the pool world if it...
