    Politics in a billiards forum?

Do those facebook groups openly abandon the hobby to argue politics? Can’t imagine that would be a good group if they do.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

Site wide in general participation is down. Do you not recognize that?

    Politics in a billiards forum?

You’re not wrong. In the spirit of seemingly protecting the concept of free speech it’s lead to this place devolving. We are talking about 20-30 people over a 20 year period that have whittled this place down to it’s current state. …and that is exclusive to the NPR with the exception of a...

    Politics in a billiards forum?

That used to not be the case. But in my opinion allowing it here has lead to it permeating the whole forum and people have just vacated. In hindsight allowing it didn’t protect anything.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

It’s the 10% that aren’t that’s the issue. Had a member recently that I’ve known for years. Done good business with. Then he wants to hop on a plane and fight. WTF is wrong with people. Identity politics is ridiculous.

    Politics in a billiards forum?

As a regular participant in the NPR its sheer existence creates site wide issues. I don’t see the value but I don’t mind blowing off steam like others. It is what it is. I can separate the two but based on the behavior of some here a lot of people cannot. The hobby forums that thrive...

Looking for complete lathe set up for just shafts.

Hightower has some basic setups that aren’t terribly expensive. Have you looked there? A small metal lathe from harbor freight would be a cheap consideration.

    Unusual Joe Porper Pool Cue

I had a drunk uncle mouth off one night about how good he was. God damn fat slob. Bet me 400 bucks he could beat me with an aluminum telescoping duster pole they sell at Home Depot that I had in my garage. 6’ and extended another 4 feet or something. Race to 3. I break and run the first rack...

What types of wood are cue butts made of? How do they affect the way a cue hits?

Why are you guys so miserable and argumentative? I’ve been building cues for awhile. I’m by no means a pro or expert but I can tell that pretty much every aspect of the cue is going to impact how a cue feels. I would agree that a great deal comes into play from the tip to the joint. Shaft...
