    Quick release tool post

I added a 250-000 OXA QCTP. I decided not to use the spacer that it came with and made a taller 1/2 inch spacer instead. Dave38 has a nice solid looking spacer that he repurposed from a router mount for his QCTP. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/cue-smith-deluxe.541388/post-7211664

    Cue Smith Deluxe

OXA 250-000 wedge type QCTP from Ebay. You will need to make a spacer to mount the holder to your cross slide. 1/2 inch thick is about perfect. For the 250-007 angled cut off tool I had to grind off the lower dovetails to be able to get cutoff tool on center when extended 1 inch.

    Linen wrap spool holder

I made a horizontal spool holder and I had problems with the linen getting twisted up between the spool and my hand. The linen is spun from strands and the tension that I applied tends to unwind the weave causing it to develop a twist that worsens until it starts to knot up. I know that others...

    Dial Indicator w/magnetic base

A pair of extra drawer slides mounted end to end. I also have a couple cheap, no name, dial indicators that I use for X and Y. They work perfectly well for my needs.

    Heavy curl kielwood shaft?

I've made a few. Surprisingly, they play a little stiffer than regular Torrefied maple shafts. Sorry for the poor photo. The photo was of the thin end showing a very dense RPI. Like yourself, I can't seem to hang onto mine.

Ivory joint threads on a TS cue.

I agree that a pair of thread gauges are essential. I'm sure that most of the makers on here can tell common thread pitches at a glance. If you're out and about and you didn't happen to bring your thread gauges, you can download the free Thread Pitch app to your smart phone and do a quick...

is this a weight bolt? if so, how can I remove it?

It looks like a snooker cue. They often have a fitting in the bottom for a screw on extension. On the 12 foot tables, you may need an extension and a bridge.

Thanks. I saw those too. Add another €31 to ship. Besides, where is the challenge?

    Wood pins

Nice job achieving a good fit. Choosing phenolic was a wise choice. Yes, mine are live threaded with a CNC mill.

    Wood pins

I don't know. The mock up was a proof of concept (1/2-10). I struck out searching for the Longoni thread pitch. I'm guessing it's metric. I'll know when I have it in hand. I'll adjust to match. If anyone knows the thread pitch for a Longoni carom shaft pin, that would be helpful?

    Wood pins

Those look very good. I never had any success using dies on wood. Well done. Did it fit well into the butt? I have a broken carom pin job coming in (my first one). It's a Longoni carom cue. I did a mock up before I agreed to accept the repair.

LATHE SPEED "FOR TRIMMING CUE TIP

You can buy an optical tachometer from Amazon for $20. Put a small piece of reflective tape onto everything in your shop that spins.... point the laser at the reflective tape and know exactly how fast your item is rotating. Range is 2.5 to 100K RPMs. Accuracy is ±0.05%. It won't work on a highly...

I use the UC100 USB to parallel adapter with WIndows 10. It works fine with Mach3. I enjoy your CueCut program.

    Linen wrap question ...

I had the exact problem with twisting linen. I made a spool holder to hold the spool horizontal and had nothing but problems. My wife sews a lot (she has more sewing machines than you guys have lathes). She understands thread a lot more than I do. She said to get rid of the horizontal holder and...

Device to hold a dial indicator on headstock

I've learned a lot from this and the Ask A Cuemaker forum. Chris Hightower has patiently answered my many emails. I'm happy to help out if I can.

Device to hold a dial indicator on headstock

I think that you will find it to be more versatile than a head stock mount. It takes less than 10 seconds to set up and 5 seconds to remove.
