i had an old bar box that sounds like it was in similar shape i used a "bissell spot bot" compact upholstery/carpet cleaner (i figured worst thing that could happen is that it would ruin the cloth) anyway, it came out looking and playing fine

that is an amazing cue in every way. wow. is that an oversize/hoppe style butt? how would you characterize the hit?

i am not a cue builder but have thought about getting some larger turning blanks (there are a couple distributors on the west coast) and having somebody build me a cue out of it. as novel as it would be to have a cue made out of it, everything that i have seen has compared it to pine in density...

i waited 6 weeks for mine, located in the metro east st. louis area 9' professional, 3 piece slate Andy Cook was the mechanic and if whoever sets yours up does half as good as job as him, you got absolutely no worries hang in there, you're gonna get a great table

dont think you could go wrong with the 9' light diamond sells. the "diamond" legend on the ends are actually decals you can elect not to stick on it. the light is easy to hang and there are essentially two 1x3s spaced at 4' centers that have pre drilled 3/16" holes so you can flush mount it on...

i'm at 17 weeks. brandon told me up front it would take some time. if it plays and looks like yours, well worth the wait. i'll post some picks when i get it.

i have the exact same cue. first decent stick i ever bought. discontinued model 95-1. less than $200 value.

pretty cue. does the shaft have the "Schon" marking? what kind of joint rings?

for what its worth and it might not be what you are looking for (butterfly points, metal ferrule, square butt, ash shaft, etc.) viking can/will build most of their cues overlength (butt and shafts), can provide an european taper, and give you whatever diameter tip you want if you are willing to...

i play with an elk master on my snooker cue and bar box cue. i like the accuracy, soft touch, english, and follow as compared to harder tips. why do some prefer the talisman and/or tiger soft over an elk master? do they play a better draw?

(this is one very cool website...) my personal (yet limited) experiences with viking have been completely the opposite. its too bad to hear of an experience like that.
