    Apps that report to Fargo

You’re right, thanks. I just looked up last year’s 9-ball open in Austin that Fedor won, 128 players, races to 7/7, and Fedor shot +80 over par (915!) and 7 guys shot more than +100 their rating. https://digitalpool.com/tournaments/skinny-bobs-2023-open-9-ball-tournament/performance

That tournament was races to 2 and 1, so I’d expect a lot of variance. The winner who shot +152 over his 561 rating also lost his second match 0-2 to a 519 player, then went on to win 4 races to 1 to get to the final. Does it happen frequently in tournaments with long races?

So the TO entered you with a high starter rating based on that one tournament? How quickly did it drop en route to getting 200 games in the system? tbf that’s a little different than an established player shooting 100 over his rating. Mike has said shooting 50 over is common, but 100 over a...

    Nice but fake

O Obviously fake. Low-res, all they had to do was add and animate (poorly) a single non-measle CB, and the back guy’s eyes don’t track it correctly.

Diamond Table Light Restoration Project - Input Greatly Appreciated

Nice setup! I know you’re happy with the egg crate diffusers, but parabolic louvers are a different animal and would eliminate the side glare you can see in your pic. They’re more expensive, but worth it to folks who are sensitive to glare or who want to keep the perimeter of the room as dark...

Predator CONFIRMS revo 12.9 has LOWER deflection than 12.4 !!!

Wow, unbelievable. And she’s not just any CS rep, but a “pro” player (598FR) who was hired by Predator, the global leaders in LD shafts: http://lonestaroftexas.com/

    Nice but fake

I hired 10 artists away from Pixar and Dreamworks who could do that kind of work in one of my former companies. We had a couple hundred grand worth of rendering servers. I know what it costs in time and money. 2 minutes of CGI that looks real is a LOT of work, even today. Script kiddies can’t do...

Archer and Oscar talk it out live today at 3:00 CST

No, just a nerd lol. And I was misinformed on the 10-yr thing, the match was in Feb of 2021.

    Nice but fake

Do you know how to do film-quality CGI modeling, animation, and rendering? If not, hiring the level of technical artists you would need to make a fake video of that length and quality would cost over six figures and take several weeks. And it would still look fake to a trained eye.

Do you think these pockets were too large?

Your coverage of the Chinese pool scene from an insider’s POV would be compelling stuff, even if you spent no effort on editing.

    $ cues?

It’s not this Tim Scruggs logo, is it? If not, post some pics of it. Not much to go on with your brief description.

    Nice but fake

Faking that video (with CGI) would be harder than learning the shots. They look real to me. They’re slowed down in parts so we can see the action, but the only “trickery” I would suspect is some silicone spray on the CB and/or cloth.

Or, create another YT acct dedicated to pool content. I bet you’d have an interesting channel. Uploading vids, or even live streaming, from your phone with the YT app is so fast and easy. Hope you give it a try.

    Overhead camera for pool table?

Haven’t tried that, but I like my YT videos to be 4K. Can you live stream at 4K? I did some googling and a lot of folks talk about glitches and problems even at HD res. I also like to edit my videos prior to uploading, so I’d end up pulling them down then pushing them back up. And it looks like...

Diamond Table Light Restoration Project - Input Greatly Appreciated

    1. I built an LED light for my 9’ Centennial (pics below) with two 2x4’ panels, so 8’ long, which is only 4” shy of the 100” table surface length. At 7’, you’ll only lose 6” more on each end, so I think you’ll be fine. I used these Sunco panels, which are only $55 ea in a 6-pack. 2. I prefer...

Predator CONFIRMS revo 12.9 has LOWER deflection than 12.4 !!!

2.2” vs 2.0” looks like a 0.2” difference to me, or two hundred thousandths as you say. And the thinnest Revo vs the Players maple is a full inch difference.

Do you think these pockets were too large?

In YT you can mark a video as “unlisted” so it won’t show up on your channel, but can still be shared or embedded with the URL. It’s just as easy as them having a video upload feature here, plus the copy/paste of the url.

    The Impossible One Railer

Which one - the one with the OB next to the side pocket, or the OB on the spot? I'm guessing OB next to side pocket is hardest, since it has a further distance to travel to the pocket. Not that it matters, cause I agree both are harder, requiring a far thinner cut with max english. And perhaps...
