Why mess with a good shaft? Just buy a low deflection shaft for your cue. Way simpler and you have the original shaft intact.

I would guess if you actually play at a higher rating consistently for another 200 games or so, you will jump up a few dozen points in that time. Playing well in one tournament won't help much.

If it has a serial number, just check with Joss, it would be recorded. No need to guess or estimate. Why is the year important? They are all the same value, only thing that would change it is condition and fanciness. A 5 yr old Joss is worth as much as a 20 yr old one for the same model.
