    Matchroom Predator Championship League Pool

FYI, I think they have waited until the next day to post all of the matches from the previous day. So, you can't watch live but you can go back and watch each match later.

Do you know of any books that teach the angle management or tactical conceptualization or more than introductory pattern play?

Best Pool BREAK SHOTS of All Time in 9-ball, 10-ball, and 8-ball

Thanks for the reason that the 2 is being required to be at the back of the rack. I had never heard of a reason before. It just seemed odd to me to have more random patterns after the break from a less random rack. As for how hard it is to do what Lechner did, we'll see in the next events...

    Rolling-Cue-Ball CAROM ANGLE Systems

Thanks for helping come up with this new system for all rolling cue ball angles. And, thanks for helping find a method without needing a mark on the cue. I was hoping to avoid possibly getting a complaint from a hillbilly.

    Rolling-Cue-Ball CAROM ANGLE Systems

Thanks, I have just experimented with Patrick Johnson's method which can't be used with BIH. After posting, I thought I might get a "some exercises are left to the reader".

    Rolling-Cue-Ball CAROM ANGLE Systems

Is there a quick way to use the new RCA method to determine where to set the CB with BIH for a desired path? I thought about it a couple of times while practicing today and none of the methods seemed to lead to an easy way to do this. Your peace sign is probably the easiest method to do this...

    Rolling-Cue-Ball CAROM ANGLE Systems

Your diagram, at 3:46, showing the actual .281, 1/4 and 2/7 lines is wrong, probably just the labels on the lines. .281 should be just inside 2/7(0.285714286) . 1/4 < .281 < 2/7. But, still a great video.

Pool shots - Less is more

I wasn't knocking you for it. Your knowledge is worth something. I wish I had time to go through your boot camp. Thank you for sharing what you have for free.

Pool shots - Less is more

Here is Tin Man discussing this same pattern(6-7-8), time:1:57:20. In the video he posted today, it looks like the 7 is closer to the short rail than it does in the diagram. It looks like he just needs to get maybe one diamond from the pocket, not necessarily on the short rail.

Best Pool BREAK SHOTS of All Time in 9-ball, 10-ball, and 8-ball

I am fairly certain that Corey's soft break started in 2001 during his US Open win or at least it lead to rules to eliminate it. I haven't been able to find any videos to see how he was soft breaking then. My point was maybe it was different then and has evolved into what Dr. Dave showed in...

Maybe, if you weren't spending so much time on these videos you keep ... eh, never mind. I am glad to have added to your collection of knowledge. We can't expect you to have seen everything. Looking forward to your next one.

Best Pool BREAK SHOTS of All Time in 9-ball, 10-ball, and 8-ball

I didn't remember Ronnie's break being a soft break, I just remembered him drawing for shape on the 1 ball. I probably hadn't seen the 3 point rule yet and definitely not Corey's softer break. I had wondered a few times why no one had tried it when their break wasn't working. After viewing it...

Best Pool BREAK SHOTS of All Time in 9-ball, 10-ball, and 8-ball

Your diagram of Corey's pattern for 8-ball racking has him breaking from the wrong side. I don't have any "big" breaks to share. But, here is another soft break that worked effectively by Ronnie Alcano. And, a cut break by Max Lechner that I think we will see more players try to copy when...

    Bill Stroud pool stories................

I thought you were old enough to know that "not playing" is part of every pool player's greeting, even before last year. And, as Roger Allen told me once after not playing for a few months, as he's running a small package on someone, "Just because I haven't been playing, doesn't mean I forgot how".

    Fargo rating

It's been a lot of years since I played chess. But, I don't remember anyone using the "classes"/letters for anything other than some prizes in bigger tournaments(like last woman prizes in pool) and for "beginner" type tournaments(max rating allowed) that promoted participation and introduction...

How does Shane get the white in the air everytime??

Just an FYI, With the video paused, you can use the "<" and ">" keys to advance or go back one frame at a time. I find this easier than trying to pause at just the right time. And, you can hold down the key to get a bit of a slow motion play of the video.

Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

Also, would you catch it if they only did it occasionally, to get ahead or on the hill? I doubt I would.

Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

Here is a match from a tournament that tried something new to avoid pattern racking, but one of these players didn't exactly follow the rules. Fortunately, that one didn't win. They were supposed to shuffle the balls, push them against the rail in a single line and then rack from the ends...
