Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

It is a trend, at least for the rotation games. A few people were disqualified from one of the virtual events(streamed ghost matches) this year. I haven't seen any other players do it in 8 ball, but I bet it does happen. I don't watch much 8 ball. For any game, it would be hard to call them...

What's the highest TPA ever for an entire 9B match?

Yes, Kaci ran 8 and out against Alex, in a 10 ball set.

Who was all in on the infamous dumping at Challenge of Champions 1991?

I've always felt that the group that split(forming the PCA, I think) from the men's tour back in the early 90's was the reason that the men's tour eventually disappeared. Although, maybe, it was already in trouble before that.

What does Team USA’s Mosconi Cup future look like?

I can't tell you there is a lot of hope for the future, but I think it is more than zero. Of course, it will depend on if they stick with pool. The younger kid in this video has a younger brother that plays better than him. The younger brother beat Roberto Gomez in the Texas Open a couple of...

Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

I think it is more than semantics. To me, there is a difference between if the tendency is to go against you and you are hoping to get lucky, and if the tendency is to go in your favor and you are sometimes unlucky when it doesn't. I don't remember players playing for shape on the 1 ball after...

Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

I guess you think Max is just getting lucky here. My point is that all of the top pros quit smashing the break and hoping to get lucky around 2001. Now, they hit it with a plan and just hope to not get unlucky.

Favorite way to practice position play.

When I first started learning, a friend and I would use 1 ply of a bar napkin as a target and we would get a quarter if we could land the cue on the napkin. Having the visual target really helped me see the lines to the target better, or more precisely, I started too see that the path to my...

Do you think 9-ball would be better or worse if a mandatory push out after the break became a standard rule?

For those of you who think the break is luck, Corey Deuel has proven that isn't true in 9 ball or 8 ball. Watch his break is these matches. In the 8 ball match, watch the how the solids and stripes spread and group. 9 ball match 8 ball match

    Fargorate

For the reader who asked if there is a difference between the paid subscription and what they get from league, there isn't (at least that is what was announced originally). Your league membership pays for the app. If you aren't in league, then you need the paid subscription. From Mike Page...

Why do players turn there cue to a certain spot?

I don't think he is orienting the grain. That would need to be done before getting down on the shot, unless there is a mark on the cue to help him). I think it is just part of this stroke. I've noticed a few players rotate the cue during the practice strokes. Alex is one of them.

    Snooker highlight reel

If there wasn't a red in his expected pocket, that could help your case. I saw a couple of the World Snooker Championship matches where they didn't seem to know about throw either. One of the shots was just near frozen, so probably a little less well known even for pool players.

    Object ball slightly Right

Try practicing your stroke(natural, not necessarily alignment keeping) in slow motion especially the longer back stroke. For me, after an 11 year layoff, I found I was twisting a little when I was going down on the shot. My backstroke then would move away from my body and not return on the...

    Shoot again

Thanks Stu. I didn't take pt109's post as being a restore and shoot again, but more as a pass and the opponent shoots again. I am with you in believing the restore option being too difficult to be practical. I did watch several of this year's World Snooker Championship matches. I guess I...

    Shoot again

Does anyone have an example of this being done in snooker? I suspect the rail after contact requirement in American pool changes the tactics. Most intentional fouls in straight pool and one pocket that I have seen would not be fouls if contacting a rail isn't required.

STRAIGHT POOL Strategy and “Run Your Age” Challenge

What is the app? Is it an app for specifically scoring a straight pool game, or something to just keep track of the run totals? When I started playing, I played a bit of straight pool on some Gold Crowns with the counters. The few times I've played without the counters, it was more difficult...
