Stats -- Efren Reyes vs. Earl Strickland "Color of Money" 9-Ball Race to 120, November 1996

I think you are familiar with Charlie Ursitti’s work on pool and billiard tournaments of the golden era. It’s the main source of data for entire generations of play. Have you compiled all your stats into a single database that you could publish?

Interesting Article: Billiards Math is Hard

This area of math is more like the game of life (and other simple math simulations) than cue sports as you noted. I think the only overlap with real billiards is that something that seems so simple can be incredibly complex and beautiful.

41:50, the shot on the 1 in the final rack to get perfect position on the 2 was incredible from my perspective. That could have easily gone wrong.

The copyright on the book is still in force (regardless of who currently owns it). It’s a great book and I suggest people buy it instead of pirating it.

Who and Why was LD shaft invented

That’s a good explanation for the settlement—it had nothing to do with the underlying lawsuit but it was some win for Predator that avoided an expensive lawsuit. Lunch was tolerable, thanks for asking!

Who and Why was LD shaft invented

Predator filed a handful of patents on its LD shafts over the years with varying success. This is the patent that most directly applies to its hollow-bore design, requiring a shaft having a wall thickness of about 0.030 to 0.050in: https://patents.google.com/patent/US6110051A/ And a second...

OK lets start some trouble LOL (Diamond System)

Corner5 is how I was taught to quickly judge how a pool table is banking. It is amazing the difference between tables or even the same table over different days (due to weather and humidity, if the pool room door is open, etc).

OK lets start some trouble LOL (Diamond System)

Those diagrams were old even by the time of Phelan. I think the main benefit of the sight marks is they let you more easily estimate quarter and half distances along the rail. But of course snooker and plenty of other billiard tables don’t have them.
