Experiments in looking at the cueball while delivering the stroke.

I thought that went without saying. I am referring to the actual contact stroke. It won't work. You are basically shooting blind and your shape will be terrible , and you line will be off on your follow through causing misses. When you drive do you stare at the hood of your car? New drivers...

Experiments in looking at the cueball while delivering the stroke.

Tennis: eyes on ball then court in forward part of stroke before contact. Hockey: eyes on puck then net in forward part of slap shot before contact. Soccer: eyes on ball then goal in forward part of shot before contact. Golf: eyes on ball then forward just before contact. Pool: eyes on cueball...

Did I make a bad call as Tournament Director?

Oh we play on diamonds up here in Canada.

Did I make a bad call as Tournament Director?

Either way I thought scratching on the 8 was ball in hand not a loss...so in this case wouldn't it have been spotted? If not then pull the video as it is imperative we get the call right for this crucial league game.

Becue (blue) core tip or Kamui Medium black?

I am ordering a natural born naked becue. Anybody have experience with the core tip? They used to have ultraskin but now use (blue) core. I can't stand tips getting hard...but don't like the spongy feel of soft. Typical 3 bears scenario here. Which one should I go for?

I like the new format where they have sets.

Take a look at the prize money now compared to the 90's and get back to me.

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

I think for a professional event it should be a race to 11 with winner breaks or best of 3 sets race to 5 winner breaks but switch break on set change obviously. No shoot out crap...just play the deciding set...lag or flip coin for break on deciding set.

I like the new format where they have sets.

How? Is it better to not get a chance at the table if your opponent runs 11? I don't think you understood what I meant. In your example, straight pool is like solitude if you ask me...each player should play the table and high run wins.

If you haven't played on both then why are you commenting?

You do understand they are different tables. The Pro Am plays differently.

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

In a room that is 17' 6" x 14' I have a 9 ft diamond in it right now. I have a shorty cue for any shots where the cueball is right on the rail, and you are shooting perpendicular from it, so it doesn't come up very often, definitely not enough to be bothersome. The real issue is the fireplace...

I like the new format where they have sets.

Yes but if a player runs the race, then the other player should be given one turn at the table to do the same and then do a tie breaker. The nfl had a ridiculous overtime back in the day where you could win by a field goal...basically came down to whoever won the coin toss. They still don't have...

I like the new format where they have sets.

This is great...you can have someone run away with a set but not the whole match. Should have done this instead of the alternate break format which basically killed any momentum pool carried out of the 90's into oblivion. Not a fan of the shoot out...why not just play the 3rd set?

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

I have 4 1/4" pockets and its a grind for the best of players. My table plays very stingy...so its hard to string together racks. Yes for a Pro Am. If anybody wants a diamond Professional with light and 4 1/4" factory pockets (factory rails) then let me know. Yeah but I'll get the one piece...

"Hit the pro side of the pocket" myth.

I don't understand the "aiming" part of pool. There is no aiming in pool. What you think you are doing when you are "aiming" is actually just undoing what your body and brain have already figured out. It's like reading. You actually consume entire sentences at a glance but then deliberately go...

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

Yes league cut if I wanted to really do straight pool on the diamond...but too big for 9 ball or 10 ball imo. The Pro Am is one piece slate. I really like the way my 7 ft pro am plays so want to get the same play on the 9 ft.

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

I have a great mechanic so no problem there. I think I will go with the Pro am 4 1/2 standard pro cut pockets to match my 7ft. I have played on Gold crowns and from I remember people couldn't wait to get off of them for the diamonds...but my experience as most with the gold crowns were dingy...

Come on guys this is a big decision.

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

I would like to dabble in straight pool and see if I can break 1000. I also like to play 9 ball and 10 ball. I only play 8 ball on 7ft tables. I don't play 1 pocket or banks...thats for the old guys. So should I get a: Gold Crown III, IV, V or VI tournament edition? Or a Diamond Pro Am with 4...

Player of the decade Earl or Sigel?

Comparing those players to the players of today would be like comparing any athletes of old to today...they simply don't measure up.
