Sold For Sale Original 60s hand made George Balabushka Cue $27,000 (sold)

Something like this belongs in a museum. And I will add this inappropriate comment. I hope it stays in the USA. I was told a lot of top end cues ended up in Japan in collections. JMO Ken

First Custom Cue - $1200 Budget

On my Facebook cue seller page there was a wrapless Cory Barnhart for sale for $700. It looked really nice. Kevin Stier was the seller. I dont know Kevin or the cue, just passing it along. It sounded to me like a good deal. But dont take my word for it, check it out yourself. Ken

Top 5 Favorite Custom Cue Makers

Pretty much I have what I consider the top 2-3. In order 1) Bill Schick 2.) Gus 3.) Bushka Others I have owned that are top notched. Ginacue (although the inlayed points are a turn off for me) James White (I like his stuff even more than Mottey) Ken

First Custom Cue - $1200 Budget

I would also include Rick Howard of Mace cues. His cues play incredible, are very reasonable. They are a little tough to pick up on secondary market because folks hang on to them. IMO, my thoughts on the above cuemakers that Acehigh08 suggested. I absolutely love Nitti cues when they...

    Mike Sigel Custom cue.

Mike Sigel retired from pool because of lack of money in pool. He worked with a cuemaker and began making cues. Using his name, they sold for an unbelievable amount for really just simple cnc type inlayed cues. The folks that bought them for 3-5K couldnt sell them for $1K and took a real...

Looking up old threads - Did Dippy ever pay off 100% to Scott Frost and Billy Incardona?

We havent heard much about Dippy in years. I was never a fan, but in an old thread, the partnership of Scott and Billy had collected $100K but was still owed $50K. What a cast of characters we have in the pool world. Ken

How do you prepare for a tournament

Doing drills, and gambling. In my case, I just gamble cheap, but if I "play for play" , I lose focus. $5-$10/game 9 ball is cheap enough but keeps me focused. JMO Ken

Great story....Dieckman seems like a character and would have enjoyed working with him. Sorry to see him pass. Ken

Pretty interesting for those that like photograpby...and Bensinger's

I hope this comment is appropriate. We lost Freddy years ago, and while I had only spoken with him briefly, I always thought he had a bunch of photos and history of pool. I sure hope all of that wasn't lost. While most pool players tend to "tilt" the story a little, and I am sure that...

Should the live streamer have stopped filming Billy's match when the verbal back-and-forth began?

Silly to say streamer should have turned it off. They were in a public place. Just curious, when Rodney King got the shit kicked out of him, should that video been turned off? Funny how folks say one thing in one intense and another in another. Both should have been allowed to...

Here is $4K, build me a cue.

I have commissioned a ton of cues, but I have never just said, here is some money, build me a cue, ship to me when you are done. Have you ever had this experience? Would you like it or would you request input? Any thoughts? Ken

JV - I feel I should write this all down. What you think is common knowledge, or something that is not important, is very interesting for us mere mortals. Please keep sharing. Ken Strain

    Billy Thorpe gone wild!

I lived in Paducah and the locals who I thought were tough pool players warned me to never go to Cairo, IL. And if I was stupid enough to go there, dont gamble on ANYTHING. They were so crime ridden there they stole the copper coils off the air conditioner at a church....talk about a sure way...
